Measures 5998m Par 72 with four par 3s ranging from 144-214m, ten par 4s ranging from 301-378m and four par 5s ranging from 447-524m.

Course has wide, dry patchy kikuyu fairways with small bent grass greens which have consistent roll but a touch slow with some dead patches throughout its greens. There are 9 bunkers on the course.

The layout is fairly typical of a country course where you cross Caves Road 4 times during the round with short-medium tree-lined fairways. There are mostly slight dogleg holes with wide landing areas on the dogleg corners. Standing on the 17th tee, which is the highest point on the flat course, has views west of the forested mountain range.

Highlights include: the 214m Par 3 straight 3rd (index 1) with a tree about 15m short right to avoid; the 343m straight 9th (index 7) with Caves Road on the far right and 2 bunkers guarding the green; the 352m 13th (index 8) which doglegs 60 degrees left from 200m off the tee to a bunkerless green and the 197m slight uphill 14th (index 4) with 2 bunkers guarding the green.

Other highlights include the finishing 2 holes: the 301m straight 17th (index 16) with 2 fairway bunkers 60-100m out from the green on the right with the OOB fence on the left to a 2 tier front-sloping bunkerless green; and, the 524m slight dogleg right 18th (index 6) with the OOB practice range on the left with the bunkerless green playing gently uphill for the last 50m.

The par 3s are the most challenging with its length (3rd), sand (14th) and grassy mounds before the greens which play as false fronts (8th & 16th) to avoid off the tee. The par 4s are generally weak and short.

Played here 2nd August 2011 with $25 visitor green fees. Course is located about 8km south of the town on Caves Road. The town has about 4700 people and is located approximately 310m above sea level about 30 minutes (or 50km) south of Dubbo and about 1 hour from either Mudgee or Orange.

Played the Sat comp here and struggled in the heat. Partner Dave and I managed a +5, middle of the field (sorry mate). A good walk if you are fitter than the Relic. Flat and trees. Greens are pretty good and heaps of grass on the fairways. Currently preferred lies to keep the grass long in the heat. Watch out for flyers. Some long par threes and strategic trees. Must be a rule in country courses! Very social but a long way out of town. Be careful.
Still a roll up start and some pretty handy golfers in the membership so burglars beware. Low cost, interesting enough, and friendly. Only three hire carts though. Enjoy!

like most country course very long.very tree lined course.greens are first class condition apart from the black cockatoos ripping into them.sat comp is a roll up start and most of the members are very friendly.had a great day out and looking forward to my next game there.
