Played carbrook yesterday. Very reasonable track. Fairways were quite good, greens also. didn’t really like that the first and the eight pins are on the same green. Quite challenging, especially the back nine with the wind up. only negative i could say is that the bunkers are awful. Pro shop staff were super helpful and friendly, and the members i played with were great. playing again next week!

Being a member of Carbrook I could be considered as biased, however for any golfer wishing to play a course that has continued to improve to now being the most enjoyable course in S.E. Qld. Give Carbrook a go.

The layout is superb with fairways and greens both running true. Each hole creates its own challenge with water hazards being in play on most holes. The last wednesday of the month hosts the Shark Challenge where the course is set-up to the championship level, break your handicap and be rewarded with a Shark Challenge golf shirt.

Carbrook can be a very challenging course if you’re off your game,But when you’re playing on a course like this one, that is in such good condition most of the time, it is still very enjoyable.Value for money is second to none.If you are a keen golfer and come away from this course dissapointed then there is something wrong.

This course has some excellent holes to challenge any level of golfer. The Shark Lake challenge which is held on the last Wednesday of the month sounds like a true test of Carbrook. Pro pins and back markers will rattle plenty who are trying for the free shirt should you break your handicap.

The golf course was in great nick and the service was first rate. Had a homely feel with a chef cooking breakfasts and VERY friendly members.

I will be joining here very soon. Even that was layed out to be simple...

Well done Carbrook for remembering how golf was mean't to be enjoyed...

Carbrook is an excellent course. Its in great condition. A very challenging course for a mid to high handicaper. The fairways are lush and green and the greens are great. The wind makes this course even more challenging. The course staff are friendly and helpful.

I played at Carbrook earlier this week and was blown away by the condition of the course.

I have heard that the fairways get dry, but the whole course looked a picture.

The greens were firm and true and the green surrounds were like a bowling green.

It is a very testing game of golf, especially when the wind blows as it did when i was there!!

Good holes were 2,10,12,13 and 15.

$23 for 18 holes on a weekday is great value.

Played here the other day and was an absolute pleasure. the coure is in excellent condition and is a beautiful green colour. hard course but very enjoying. i play off sixteen and shot 21 over par so it is a bit harder than other courses.

It was a big step coming from a 4000m par 64 home course to this 6000m+ monster, but it was an absolute pleasure.

Each hole presented a different challenge, and local knowledge is a definate asset.

A must play for every lover of the game.

Probably one of the better courses around Brisbane, wiil benefit in a few more years once everythings fully grown and the greens have settled down, a course which the members and greens staff work very very hard to have in top nic all the time alot of other courses could learn alot of Carbrook.

Staff at golf course very friendly and only to happy to help, one of the better valued courses.

Great layout right from the 1st where precision is the key, like I say in alot of my reviews of the tee is the key drive well score well, some holes you can spray but it pays to keep on the short stuff.

Course 8/10

There is an added challenge to Carbrook once the wind gets up. Being located on the Logan River and not far from the sea means that the wind can blow quite strongly from the east. This usually means that it either blows you into the hazards on most holes or your driving into it on most of the longer holes. The good thing is on those steamy hot humid days you also usually have a breeze to cool down with. Again Carbrook good value for money.

Carbrook is on of those courses which offers friendly service, has a good membership and has some of the better practice facilities available to most clubs. With it's two driving ranges, putting and chipping greens and bunker practice area Carbrook offers plenty to those honing their game.

The course itself is a mixture of wetlands and links style course and is mainly well grassed no matter how dry the conditions.

The front 9 is a wetlands style layout and the back nine is links. The open fairways on the course may look inviting but once one is of the mown area and into the rough getting that second shot away can be a little bit harder to do. This is especially true in those early morning games when the grass is wet with dew. The longer grass can easily grab the head of the club leading to an errant second shot. A mixture of OB and water can lead to dropping a few shots. The 12th is long par 4 that requires a good carry over a water hazard to set one self up for an approach to the green. The 13th is a long dogleg par 4 which has OB on the all along the right hand side and requres a good tee shot to have an approach to the green. The greens are fast but true and although are reasonably flat, the par 3s seem to be up turned bowl affairs that require a steady approach to grab a par. Carbrook offers a challenge without being punishing. Well worth a look.
