Morack Public Golf Course is a picturesque 18 hole course that is open every day of the year except Christmas Day and the driving range provides 15 undercover bays for golfers to work on their swing.
The course at 5247 metres provides an enjoyable challenge with undulating tree lined fairways, small greens, several water hazards and many bunkers. Thanks to innovative and sustainable water use, the course manages to stay remarkably green throughout the year.

Currently in very good condition. Paid $13 for a Sunday evening. Appreciate the terrain and elevation of some of the holes. 2nd and 7th holes are highlights on the first nine while the 11th and 15th were my picks on the back nine.

Played back 9 in early December, thought the course was actually in beautiful condition. Really enjoyed the course and I think it’s underrated.

Admittedly not very difficult with forgiving fairways but still good greenery around the holes too.

My golfing mate assures me the pic is the second, viewed from the water hazard. He’s seen it from that angle a few times so I’ll take his word ;)

Played here 3 times over the last few months. Good value at $22 / 18 holes on the weekend. Average round time about 4:30 – 4:45 for a noon tee time.

Tees, greens and fairways are in fair condition. The challenge of this course is the fairways, which are often tilted towards the side that will give you trouble – deeper rough, bushes, or most common of all a single huge tree, well placed to block your view of the green.

Standout holes are:
the 2nd, a dogleg left par 5 with a lake on the right (which, incidentally, is not the hole pictured in the image on this page – in fact, going through the course in my head I can’t work out which green that is… is it from the course’s previous layout, maybe?)
the 7th, another dogleg left par 4, this time uphill and quite short – drive near the top of the hill then face a difficult club selection for a blind second)

Not a tough course, but an enjoyable one.

Two weeks ago we played here. The conditions are badly damaged by the weather. It may be slightly better than the other public courses. If there is a choice, will not come back for a while until the grass grows again.

Played there today. Was expecting some average public course after reading the previous reviews but how I was wonderfully surprised. The course was in quite good shape, especially the greens. I’ve taken up golf recently with another mate and we’ve played regularly for the past 6 months and of all the public courses we’ve played on, Morack Golf Course has clearly been the past. If there was a system of rating out of 20 for Public courses. Here are the rating for the courses I’ve played on Glen Waverley Golf Course 8/20 Malvern Valley Golf Course 11/20 Ivanhoe Golf Course 13-15/20 (15 if the course was in better condition) Freeway Golf Course 14/20 Yarra Bend Golf Course 15/20

So I would give Morack Golf Course 17/20

What makes Morack so interesting and challenging is the abundance of sand traps on each hole. There is usually always 2-3 bunkers around each green and some fairway bunkers as well. Furthermore, the course is in excellent condition, with mostly green fairways and excellent greens. Definitely worth another visit or two at the very least.

I have been playing at morrack for a long time on and off. Not too bad in good weather but gets very damp under foot in winter. The improvements to the front 9 have made the course more enjoyable no doubt, however the back 9 is still a bit ordinary, especially after the 13 hole. not that it is in bad condition. Its just up and back holes with no real features. Some of the tee areas are quite narrow and require a good drive. I would rate this as a 5/10 course as it is reasonable for a public set up but not awsome by any standard.

hadn’t played this course in a long time and was surprised to see the different layout on the front nine. It has definetly improved and the second hole is now the best on the course.

Good Public golf course that is looking very green thanks to the recent wet weather. has some very challenging holes, my favourite is the small par 3 10th as it gives you a great oppertunity to score. Good pro shop and great staff, very nice driving range and very good practice greens

not a bad public course thats shortist in length. they hav made a couple of hole extensions in recent times which hav made it better. gets very busy on weekends which means slow and big hold ups on the par 3’s. other than that i still recomend a hit there.

This would have to be one of the best public courses I have played on. I've played on this course 4 times with in the past month and am still enjoying every game. The course is very green and well maintained. The greens are well maintained though some holes could be more challenging than what they are. The course is well protected from the wind meaning you can use your PW even when your a while out from the green. The first nine is in my opinion the better of the two, offering challenging holes with some good deep bunker lies. The first hole has good eagle opportunities for the bigger hitter, and the tenth is a perfect par 3 to score an easy birdie. A must play.

A decent public course. Bit boggy in winter.

Played this course on the weekend. At first I thought it would be a nice change of scenery, how wrong I was...

The Pro Shop staff were relatively unhelpful. Ensure you have cash on you as it seems using EFTPOS is a burden to them and they frown upon it.

The fairways were extremely soft and didn't appear to drain very well, even in the absence of rain for the past few days. The greens were inconsistent and covered in worm excrement, to the point where a putt greater than 4 foot was an adventure rather than a sure thing!

The course management was lacking in that there was a great deal of space between groups, leading to a bottle neck at the tee offs back at the club house.

The only positive I could take away from this course were the bunkers. Challenging, steep and well formed, very reminiscent of the great old English courses.

I didn't particularly enjoy my round, whilst the course presented several good birdie and par opportunities, the other experiences soured my experience far too much.

I would recommend looking around for another course before commiting to Morack, plenty of other courses offer better facilities and enjoyment, for a similar price.

There is a clubhouse there and everything is green with plenty of grass.

I forgot to add that there was no problem with playing in a group of 4 on a Sunday at 5pm. Perhaps it is different at other times.

Just played there last weekend and things are looking lush except for a few places where there are a few dry dirt spots.

It wasn't as enjoyable as I had hoped but maybe that was because of my new sticks but yes the fairways are very sloped and can make for a very frustrating game. Especially if the ball bounces into thick grass which there seems to be a reasonably amount of.

Played on a sunday and when drove up thought beaty. It's green fairways. An illusion. A bit of work gojng on at the moment meant 4 temporary greens plus the other holes had been cored. Putting not that difficult but chipping was a lottery. Two paced and a large percentage of chips just ran off and found bunkers or trees or just dirt. Not long but the fairways sloped and with the run a perfecly struck wood would find trouble somehow. It was near impossible to hit a decent 8-7-6 iron because of the lack of decent grass. Also took too long to play because they insisted on having groups of 2 spread out every 4 or 5 groups. Poor course management for an oncourse ran establishment as they generally are very good. Lack of clubhouse doesn't help as we needed to slake a thirst on a hot day. Doubt we will be back.
