Blackheath Golf Club is the top course at the top of the mountains (1045mtrs). Play on a course in the middle of a National park.

The challenging Par 69 layout is in an idyllic setting with hundreds of colourful trees, azaleas, rhododendrons and shrubs lining the fairways. Wildlife abounds with many native birds and ducks about the course.

After the game relax in the clubhouse and enjoy the mountain hospitality. The clubhouse has a brasserie, bar, member’s lounge, billiard room and b-b-q facilities on the verandah overlooking the course.

Visitors and social players are always welcome and we will take care of all arrangements for corporate golf days.

a great course, much tougher than the scorecard shows, at only 5.3 k’s. But it is steep, with thick rough and punishing bush that will swallow your ball. The front nine is a unique mix off ancient European pines and autemn trees and pockets of native bush. There are some great par fours and fives, my favourite is the third. The back nine goes into the national park, some holes carved through the bush. The 16,17, 18th holes are a great way to finish a round. Only the par threes at blackheath are a let up in character (except the seventeenth, which is great), particully the front nine. The fairways are a little muddy, and the greens can be different speed every whole. The course is spectaculer in autumn.Lots of ducks. Multiple dams on back nine.

I’d rate this the best and most scenic of the Blue Mountain Courses. The front nine is pretty straight forward, but the back nine becomes tough with the water hazards. I played a couple of weeks ago and the course is very lush with all the recent rain. Well worth a round.

Measures 5392m Par 69 with six Par 3s ranging from 122-192m, nine Par 4s ranging from 307-383m and three Par 5s ranging from 441-486m.

Played here 29/3/10 and along with Wentworth Falls these are my favourite mountain golf courses. Imposing clubhouse on top the hill overlooks the course with sweeping views towards the east. Good challenging array of holes. Very good closing 4 holes will test your skills with all different options to the green, with water to avoid. Greens here are as good as they get in the mountains.

More challenging back nine with most fairways sloping towards the north. Although, not as challenging as WFCC I highly recommend this course.

Very nice course, has some interesting holes, espescially on the back 9. Well manicured and big mature trees add to the mountain feel. Can’t beat the fresh mountain air. Favourite holes are the 10th, 15th, 17th and 18th. Friendly atmosphere and great value. Nice One!

Played here today for the first time in about 4 years. Not a soul on the course on a Tuesday, just me and my mate enjoying this beautiful course.

A lovely sunny day, the greens were in perfect condition; firm, true and fast. I love the challenege this course presents around the greens when in this condition. Chipping around the greens requires imagination as they run fast and often you need to aim well away from the pin and let the ball run on the contours to where you want it to finish.

Love this course – $25 = brilliant!

I love this course. I haven’t played here for a few years but plan to go back soon. playing here in spring or late Autumn is just a joy. A well presented course; not too long with some great holes and the beautiful backdrop of nature that the Blue Mountains provide. Did I mention it’s cheap as chips too? Especially mid week. Make the trip up for a round and you won’t be disappointed.

THe course is in good shape. The dams are full to the brim and the creek is running strongly. It is fairly easy to get tee times including SATURDAY comps. The women have a nice block of times mid-morning on Saturday. It is usually very quiet during the week. Women’s comp Thursdays and Men Wednesdays. Some changes to staff and new caterers seem good. The Club is keen to welcome visitors. As others have said it is a great environment with some very interesting holes.

Without a doubt the best golf course in the mountains at the present time of year. The fairways and greens are well maintained and are a credit to the groundstaff. Recommend the 19th hole

I played the course recently after having not played it for several years. The condition was disappointing but i guess most country courses are sufferring in the drought. The greens were slow und variable in pace. I agree with what some other reviewers have said about the layout. Some good holes on the edges of the course but pretty flat and drab in the middle. Try to play in spring when the course presents at its best.

I played this course about 3 months ago in spring when all the flowers were in bloom. I remember thinking it is probably the prettiest course I have played at. The course can not really be described as difficult - it is not overly long and the rough is forgiving. When I played my round the greens had just been cored so I found I had to hit my putts quite hard to get the ball to the hole. The holes I liked the most were the 15th which has a creek running alongside on the left and in front of the green, as well as a large gum tree on the right. The 17th has a large lake as the fairway so anything short is history. Unfortunately being concerned about this I overclubbed and ended up in the thick garden bed at the back of the green and had to drop out. The day I played was quite windy, especially later in the round and as the course is nestled in a valley I believe this made the wind even stronger. But don't let this put you off playing a round at Blackheath - if nothing else you will remember the picturesque setting.

I rate Blackheath GC the most enjoyable and prettiest golf course in the Blue Mountains although it lacks the panoramic views that Leura GC has. It is quite a hilly course with plenty of trees and well defined fairways. Although not the longest of country courses it requires accurate driving to avoid overhanging tree branches and tricky rough.

The greens are of a fair pace but because of the dampness that pervades in the Blue Mountains, particularly in the winter they can be slow. However the ball rolls fairly on putts and holds well struck shots. The altitude adds extra distance to tee shots which should please visiting golfers.

Playing Blackheath is a pleasant experience and is best played in summer as the winter fogs can make this course unplayable due to the altitude of 1100m.

I have played Blackheath a few times while holidaying in the Blue Mountains and last played there in August this year. It is a very pretty golf course, especially in Spring or Autumn. Unfortunately the course suffers from the location - it is built in a bowl or valley with the middle holes very flat and the perimeter holes clinging to hillsides. It is cramped for room as evidenced by some very short 5s (1st & 10th) and narrow par 4s near the boundary (15th). The hillsides do however provide some quirky and different holes (11th & 18th). Overall it is worth a game but I think there are better courses a little lower down the mountains which provide a more conventional and interesting challenge.

I travel to the Blue Mountains regularly and had heard good things about Blackheath. I have played the course three times and frankly remain disappointed with the layout. In truth, the land is not well suited for a golf course. Many of the holes are compromised to fit into space requirements causing holes to skirt hillsides and making the par 5s, especially the 4th and 10th, ridiculously short. The 15th is narrow and challenging with water in play on the right and in front of the green - a little out of character with the rest of the course. The course is scenic and generally in good condition. You'll still enjoy your round but unfortunately the course doesn't live up to some of the local hype.

Blackheath represents the pick of the Blue Mountains courses.

Due to the large dams the course is always green and lush. Fairways are large and well defined giving you a clear frame within which to play the hole from the tee.

The greens whilst not the purest or fastest are enjoyable to play and generally very consistent.

Bunkering is minimalist (about 15 on the whole course) but relevant with a missed green generally leaving the player a selection of shot options which is a nice change to the modern focus on penal hazards around the green.

The holes are certainly not super long by modern standards (the 1100m altitude helps squeeze another 5-10 metres out of most shots too) with every par reachable for the stronger hitter BUT an errant shot will be leave you scrambling.

IMHO the strength of the course is the shorter par 4 holes (8, 11, 12, 15) which tempt the big hitter plus the final five holes which are one of the better closing stretches visually and challenge wise I've played around Sydney.

Of course the Par 3 17th is their postcard hole and when the gardens behind the green are in full bloom rivals Augusta for beauty from the tee - luckily it's not quite as tough !!

Given the friendly people, the reasonable green fees plus the beauty, quality and fairness of the course I'd highly recommend a day trip to Blackheath for a game if you haven't already.

Nice fairways, great greens. A lot of short holes, especially the few par fives and a couple of par 4's. Course is always kept in good condition.

Some interesting holes with several dog legs, elevations etc. If you're in the blue mountains don't hessitate to have a game at blackheath. The stand out holes are the 15th and 17th. 15th is a par four with a drive over a lake with scrub and hazard all down right side and bunkers left, with approach into elevated green over creek and large tree on corner. 17th is a nice par 3 with 130m water carry.

If you play blackheath just to see these two holes you won't be dissapointed.
