Played there Wednesday 12th September. It was the first time I have played there and I found it to be a great course. The greens and fairways were well kept and nicely undulating to make it interesting and there are also some nicely placed fairway bunkers that really make you think about your shot. Desipte the weather being terrible it was still a very enjoyable course and highly recommended.

i played here on 9.10.2006 and i think that it was a fantastic course for the money i payed. I paid $20 for 18, and i played in 3.1/2 hrs, fantastic. Great greens and alot of bunkers, the fairways were on the easier side, but still alot of fun.

The pro was a great guy, and the driving range and putting green was great, will go back for sure

The trouble with a lot of public courses the world over is that they generally feel like the designers have had to squeeze 18 holes in where they should've only put 15. As such, the average length of the holes on these courses suffers and, if you're a longer rather than a shorter hitter, you can end up feeling like you're "pitch 'n' putting" your way through your round. And so to your rescue come the Pines nine, and indeed the total 27 holes of the Collier Park Golf course. The length, but more importantly, the maturity of this nine strikes you early, though generally not until the 2nd hole of the Pines if you're teeing off first thing in the morning into the blinding rising Perth sun, where you'll need a good feel for your tee shot off the club face and a couple of mates wearing dark glasses to make sure you have an idea of where your ball may have landed. Greeside bunkers are well placed to keep you honest, but longer hitters might find their fairway counterparts too easy to carry, especially on the par 5's, though this could be partially an illusion as the width of the fairways is so generous you feel almost compelled, rather than encouraged, to give your drives a decent rip. Greens are mostly large and beautiful, refreshingly true and often exciting, though the traffic this course obviously experiences can leave you repairing half a dozen pitch marks before setting your own ball rolling.

This course is the saviour of the longer hitting metro-course player and if 18 holes of golf at Collier includes this Pines nine then it can make up for a slightly less rewarding experience of the newer, immature feeling, Lakes nine, but still compliment, like the icing on a cake, a better-than-average Island nine combination.

This is one of my favourite public courses in perth. Very pretty layout with the pine trees defining the rough. Quite a few bunkers but most can be avoided with the right selection of clubs. One thing that I notice about this course is holes always seem further away than what they really are and with a lack of distance markers makes it interesting for the player who hasn't been there before. GPS is standard on the carts so I guess a lack of distance markers is a bit of a marketing ploy. Most of the greens are protected by one or more bunkers but the greens are failry large and inviting. There are some long holes but most are reachable for the average golfer. Good putting is needed here for low scores. Everytime I've played here the course has been in fairly good condition considering the amount of traffic that goes through. Definately worth checking out.
