a very challenging layout but the day i played was after a huge downpour the day before and everything was pretty waterlogged , greens were incredibly soft and the fairways long so it is hard to give it a fitting review ,would like to play it again when conditions suit better

Measures 6065m Par 71 from the back plates with 6 Par 3s ranging from 150-180m, 7 Par 4s ranging from 320-400m and five Par 5s ranging from 480-510m.
Greens here are as good as any other in Launceston with true speed and roll, with flat good cover of grass on all teebeds and fairways lush. Best attributes here are the Par 4s, with most offering options off the T and hazards around the green to think about. The Par 5s have good length from the back (where the course should be played from) with doglegs, fairway bunkers, and well-bunkered greens. The par 3s were all parred by myself (I could not buy a putt that day on the quick greens) and are challenging and scenic (180m 3rd).
Best holes are the 477m Par 5 4th with lake 200m long from the tee on the right with bunkers left with green sloping right and to the front. The back nine is over the road, and offers some low index holes. The 152m 13th has an elevated tee to a VERY well-planned bunker-green complex. The index 1 370m 14th is along power lines to the right, with a creek 150m to green across the fairway with dams on both sides 60m from the 4 bunkers guarding the green. The longest hole is the closing 512m Par 5 with a slight dogleg left to another well-bunkered tiered green.
Played here 17/7/06 and paid $28 green fees for the only public access course in Launceston. Interstate visitors can play at the other courses, but why would you, when this course offers a great test to all golfers. If in Launceston again I will definately stay and play here again. 4 stars and an extra ball for the great accommodation available at the villas.
