Is playing quite well at the moment. Fairways have improved, and greens are equally impressive. It is no longer the "goat track" of the early 2000’s. Friendly members and pro shop staff make it a viable alternative to the "exclusive" TTG course.

Course has bounced back in a big way. Very challenging. Fairways are in great nick at the moment, not as good as a’sand belt’ course perhaps but good enough to enjoy the whole round.
Very picturesque, greens in great condition.
Cant beat the value for money, about 35 – 40 bucks for round and 1/2 a buggy (which I recommend unless you are super fit)and the on course pro’s are great blokes.
Bring a few balls if you dont hit straight all the time though, you miss the fairway and into the rough and you are in a world of hurt. Big time.
Love this course.

Course coming along in leaps and bounds. copped a hammering over the winter but now starting to dry out and should be in ideal nick for club champs this weekend. now is the time to go and have a hit on it and give yourself a new opinion.

Played there yesterday and the fairways could not get much worse. Huge patches of dirt, gravel and dead grass. Not much green in sight. Straight shots down the fairway roll down the slopes and out of bounds or on to different fairways constantly.

Greens aren’t too bad however most have dirt/sandy sections to them.

Possibly give this a miss until they begin watering and grow some grass.

Highercombe Golf and Country Club, houses a course that demands respect from 1st tee to 18th green. Ball placement becomes a priority on most tee shots with the hilly terrain taking its toll on a ball not hit to the correct position on the fairways. A scenic course that has seen many improvements lately with extra work put into tee blocks, fairways and most importantly greens, Highercombe is a challenge to all who play it. With many holes providing different outlooks from the tee one of the biggest decisions to be made is on the par 4 15th. A short hole that can be reached but will you go for it? Out of bounds both right and left the best play is a 4 or 5 iron to the fairway landing area with a short 56* wedge to a two tiered green. Perhaps the signature hole. Next time you are in the Adelaide Hills for a round, give Highercombe a go.

Highercombe is a very challenging course that will test any golfer no matter what your handicap.

It has changes a lot over the years and now in September 2006 it has improved a lot. The fairways are very green soft and there aren't any patches on most of them.

The greens are in very good condition and most of the time i's very quick.

I've been a member for six months and the improvement i've seen in the golf course is amazing.

It is really a good option if you want a challenging course and want to improve your golf at the same time.

Highercombe is a very hilly course that is not too long, but can be tricky.

The fairways are average with mainly grass and few patches of dirt and weeds (which can be annoying when you have hit a good drive and then have to hit off the dirt).

The greens themselves are in quite good nick, although a little soggy the day I went (had been raining for about a week).

A couple of the par 3s are quite long and are a good challenge. The par 5 17th hole is long and straight, but the ball will roll off the fairway if you don't place it correctly.

At only $20 a round on the weekend it represents great value. I would recommend hiring an electric cart or bring your hiking shoes.
