Played Mornington a beautiful day with barely a breath of wind. The course was amazing. Greens were a bit longer than they could of been but apart from that the course was in great condition. The views from the course are amazing and it was a pleasure to play. Would recommend it to anyone.

better than most public courses, but it is certainly not one of the best private courses out there on mornington peninsula. $25 for a round is quite attractive.

A very picturesque golf course right on the coast. Was lucky enough to play here two days ago when it was sunny and barely a breath of wind. The course is very hilly, so a cart is advisable.

Tee’d off at 8.30am, some of the holes were almost unplayable as you could hardly see the fairway amidst the glare. For first timers, the combination of sloping fairways, blind crests and well placed bunkers around the green will be a great challenge. As noted by an earlier reviewer, the greens all seem to break towards the water, regardless of what it may appear!

Overall, its better than most, and the very reasonable green fees do attract (justifiably) a lot of people. Definitely an enjoyable but equally challenging course.

Very underrated golf course. Wide, undulating and consistent fairways. Some interesting holes with amazing views of Port Phillip Bay. And my hole-in-one on the 16th just topped off a great day! Fantastic!

The course was in pretty good shape. The greens rolled true (everything breaks toward the water). The fairways were in great shape. I didn’t see anything that was detrimental to the course. I will absolutely come back and play it again and would recommend it to all me golfing mates!

Played here yesterday, the wide fairways and fast greens have been kept really well which made my game more enjoyable. It is an easy and fair course in general. The condition of the courese overall is great!

Enjoyed the course very much. Tight fairways but nice and spongy. Fast greens. Overall, I thought it was a very good course for the price. The only downside was the signage for moving from green to the next tee. The signage is very poor and for new visiting players it can take quite a while to find the next hole sometimes.

played @ the Mornington golf Course.I think it got a lot of ticks from me.I had well kept huge fairways,some where slopped but the slop was gradual for us to walk,greens were nicely maintained.Most of the greens have great lookout to the ocean.A very pictures golf course.I was entertaining my father in law who is a keen golfer.He shares the above view of the course.He would like to get his mates to have a hit at this course.
I agree that the highlights would be the view from the 7th and the 8th tee.

Nice course. Was in good nick until all the rain. Now it’s a mud fest with your ball being plugged on most tee shots which is no fun at all. Wait until it drys out until bothering playing here, it’s just not worth it!

This course is great, a bit of a surprise really given that it’s pretty cheap. The fairways were in good condition, excellent views and some challenging holes.

I like what the club has done with the clubhouse and the money they have spent to improve it but now the club must realise they need to spend a fair bit of money to actually improve the golf course.
The layout is quite plain and because the club is not putting any money towards the golf course the quality suffers quite a bit.
If they improve the quality of the course I would go back!!!

Course has improved out of sight in the last 10 years, it’s just a pity they have a terrible board running the place at the moment. The club has gone downhill since they sacked the manager of nearly 10 years who was the best manager they ever had!!!!
Membership is too expensive for what you get.
Club needs to spend more money on the course and they also need to knock down the clubhouse and start again.

played today for first time. decent course, fairways ok – previous reviews must agree with – ridiculous amount of roll on some fairways and greens too – one in particular (2nd I think) a chip to the middle of the green rolled all the way off the front when pitched from the side – very poorly designed green. But the place is in ok condition, some absolutely sensational views, and the pace was never an issue which is great for a Sunday morning (teed off at 8am, but a there was alot of traffic on the 1st when we finished so go early). $25 green fees for a sunday when booked through the Tee times section on this website made it great value for money.

a nice scenic course that is kept in good condition, but especially on the back nine good shots are definately not rewarded.you hit a perfect tee shot with a nice draw or fade, playing into the right/left slope strategically and you will walk up to ffind your ball in the rough.other than this a good mix of different holes and nice views of the bay.

Having played the course at the end of May, it has greened up nicely, and is a very enjoyable golfing experience. A course that rewards straight drives, and with some nice variation – doglegs, long and short par 3s, sloping fairways.

Teed off at 9am as agroup of two players. After 4 holes we joined up with another two players.

The front 9 took an incredible 2.45 hours to play, as we arrived on the 10th tee we found 4 groups waiting to tee off. We decided to spend some time in the bar and have a coffee and burger.

My advice would be to tee off no later than 7.30 am

A great course with certain holes having a view of the Melbourne CBD across the bay framed with trees. Massive roll to the left on a couple of holes means that a shot that lands on the right hand side of the fairway results in having to shoot from the far left hand side!

The course was a little dry in spots and avoid drinking from the water fountain/taps on the course.

My wife and I played this course last month, and it was just so sad. It was badly drought affected, with the fairways being just dusty bare stretches of ground. As another reviewer mentioned, you do not get rewarded for good shots, in fact just the opposite. I hit one good long drive up the right hand side of the fairway, just to watch it roll all the way across and into the rough on the left.

We won’t be back until the drought is over and course has had time to recover.

I would go back to this course again for the views and it has a few nicely designed holes as well.

I wasn’t enamoured with the fairways – they were OK but provided a couple of dodgy lies. A similar story with the greens, OK but not great. The bunkers were good though – lots of sand.

5/5 for the views but 3/5 for the fairways and greens I am afraid.

arrived on a Sunday morning with the sun winking through the the clouds, a soft easterly breeze lollying along and hit off on the 10th a testy little par 3. The ball lands in a bunker and I thought what a start to a round on a Sunday….GOLF!!! The next hole opened up to a fantastic wide par 4 an introduction to the Santa Anna grass fair ways where all the course is watered and fed consistenly. The blades cut through nicely and the greens held well, cambers and fall aways everywhere but a pleasant course well rewarded with over 7 holes facing the magnificent Port Pillip bay, views worth every penny watching the boats and water glisten taking the mind off the tea tree scrub lining the fairways and greens.

i played this course today and found that if you hit a decent drive down the middle you will not be rewarded for it. most of the fairways go from right to left with a lot of run. the greens are extremely fast. i did a near perfect chip shot that landed on the front of the green and rolled over the other side. i remember how a few years ago this course was very beautiful and lush, now it has major problems most of them due to the drought. hopefully we get some rain and it will become the course it used to be

Mornington is a very nice picturesque golf course along the coast, providing some eye candy on certain holes. I'm sure others will rate this course better than I have, but at the time I played it was quite dry. Most of the fairways seem to have a camber, and in the dry conditions the ball would just keep rolling until it had made its way to the edge of the rough. And the greens!! difficult enough withough them being like glass in the dry conditions.

I could see this course being excellent in the winter if you can combat the breeze off the ocean. All in all a fine course that I ran into at the wrong time. Highlights would be the view from the 7th tee, and the par 3 16th with 7 bunkers around the green
