May 3rd & 7th 2010; played both courses Captains & Presidents. Both courses in Superb condition; a credit to the club management and the course greens staff. Hardly a blemish on either layout.
Fairways, bunkers, rough & greens all well manicured with very good grass cover.
Very playable and challenging layouts and if kept to this standard a `must’ to visit and play.

As there have been no reviews for a long time it is pertinent to add some comments, even though I only played the front nine.
The area is badly drought affected, but Tocumwal’s courses are OK. Clearly they have enough water to keep the fairways and green going without problems.
From what I saw, the course is good without being outstanding, but well worth a visit.

I played this and the Presidents course during May and secured a
spot in their club championships so playing from the tips the
first day shot 81 off a 10 h'p, the first time I'd ever
seen the place so of course it's a beaut place, the fairways
are generous the greens are honest and the bunkering
superb.
For any level of golfer it's offers picturesque beauty and a
challenge, the locals play this all the time and have no need to
travel afar for their golfing stimulus.
I'd rate it for Sydney-siders a little easier than St Micks and for s.e Queenslanders similar to Coolangatta-Tweed Heads(west) but not as hard.

Amidst the Murray River playground, Tocumwal seems to often be given short shrift when comparing to Yarrawonga, Cobram and the like. In my opinion the Captain's Course is in the same league as the best of the other courses in the region.
Quality bunkering adds an aesthetic appeal that adds to the overall enjoyment of the game, so when coupled with firm, true greens, you have a display that is a good test and a fun day on the course.
Length off the tee is occasionally required and rewarded - such as on the long Par 4 7th - but there are also challenges that necessitate placement and a nerveless approach to a short shot.
The back nine is a treat as you wind through beautiful old gums that mostly allow a generous fairway - except for a narrow shute driving from the Par 5 12th.
And near the end the short 17th is a delight from an elevated tee and with a small green to hit.
Value for money is amazing - only a handful of Sydney courses could match this one for quality, yet it's at the price of a sleeve of golf balls...

Do yourself a favour and get up there to have a round. Both Captains and president course is in great condition. My preference is to play the president course. It only cost me $35 to play both courses during midweek with a smooth run. I gave it rating of 5 for the total experience.
