Originally there were 9 holes, some of which criss-crossed each other. The first 18 hole layout was designed by R.Stewart and L.Cocks and was completed mainly by voluntary labour in 1952. In 1956 a larger clubhouse was built and members were asked to contribute an extra 10 shillings or a bag of cement. In 1958 the club bought the present property for twenty thousand pounds and again with a lot of voluntary help the 18 hole course was ready for playing in July 1959.
Extensive development of the course and clubhouse facilities has occurred since that time to create one of South Australia’s finest golfing and social locations.

Can be a tough course if you are wayward off the tee, quite tight on some holes, as other have mentioned there are numerous holes with OOB down one side due to fence lines. 1st and 10th tee shots can be punished severely due to them being atop a small hill. I have had tee shots roll unfairly into rough due to landing them in the wrong spot, so I would say there are a few holes that can punish a good tee shot. In general the course is well presented, and in good condition considering the traffic it seems to get. Most saturdays see a full field, as well as sundays. The front nine is the best of the two, with only the 15th hole adding any variety to an otherwise straight forward layout. Favourite hole of mine would be the 8th, a reachable par 4 that requires a precise tee shot and a accurate approach. Worth the $30 visitor fee
