Measures 5020m Par 70 with four short par 3s ranging from 79-148m, twelve par 4s ranging from 243-398m and two par 5s ranging from the 455m straight 2nd (index 7) and the 462m slight bend right 5th (index 5).

Course has 18 black soil scrapes and watered wide grass fairways with a short tree-lined layout. There is a natural gully which runs across the 1st, 6th, 7th, 8th & 16th with 3 storage ponds. There are no bunkers on the course.

The course is fairly challenging for a black soil scrape layout. Holes 1-8 are played on the clubhouse side of Fairway Road, then you cross over to play holes 9-15 where the 3 most difficult holes are, then cross back over the road to play holes 16-18.

Some highlights include: the 398m slight bend right 10th (index 1); the 368m straight 11th (index 2) and the 343m dogleg right 14th (index 3). Despite these holes the par 4s are short and quite weak with 8 of the 12 par 4s less than 300m in length.

The par 3s are varied but unless they seed grass greens the course will never be above 1-star which represents "basic golf facilities". Fees are $15

Ardrossan is one of the larger towns on the Yorke Peninsula with around 1200 people but services a total population of about 3000 and is 20km esat of Maitland and 55km south-east of Moonta.

Closest grass green course is Balaklava about 75km north-east ofthe town.

When I head to Ardrossan I usually have plans to rip the course apart. After the front 9 things are usually going to plan. Then I cross the road and it all goes pear shaped. After playing this course you will feel it is there for the taking and usually to win a comp day here you need 45 points.
I have never raved about this course as others do (probably my inability to finish off a decent round is clouding my judgement) but I can see why people like it. If it was a 9 hole course and you played the front 9 twice I would probably agree with them. Very good fairways but the scrapes can be too firm at times.
If you were a golfer driving past and saw it you would want to have a go. And when that back 9 bites you on the ass you would want to play it again because you’re sure it is there for the taking. Thats what makes it a good course I guess.

Probably the best country golf course you are ever likely to see in this state. 18 watered fairways in immaculate condition all year round makes this a perfect place to play golf and enjoy the day. The scrapes make it an interesting day when putting but you wont be dissapointed, and for such a nice course, green fees are relatively cheap too. A must play!!

Short but interesting sand scrapes course.

Has 18 watered santa anna fairways in excellent condition all year round, some of the best fairways of any country

course. Mixed 12 Hole Wednesday and 18 Hole Saturday Summer comps.
