Was camping in Ballina over the weekend so decided to have a crack at 9 holes as well (managed to’sneak’ the clubs in). Teed off immeidately after the comp finished at 3pm on Saturday.

Extremely impressed with the quality of the course and overall course grooming. Fairways were a little long and greens were very fast. Pro shop staff were extremely helpful.

Overall, extremely impressed with the course. Will def play 18 next time.

Tranquil with nice views of the river, wide tree-lined fairways and fast greens. The guy in the pro shop was very pleasant and although I teed off at 3pm on a Sunday I didn’t see anyone until the 14th.
No memorable holes really and a lot of up-and-down; not an interesting course by any means but worth a go if you’re in the area.

A good Members course in good condition. We played it just after the greens had been cored and sanded (must be done sometime), but they were still firm and reasonably quick downhill. The fairways were good. One minor criticism is that a lot of the holes run beside each other in opposite directions, so you do feel a little like you are going back and forth a bit. The 13th (a par 5) is a great hole, about 500 metres for men and 400 metres for women, with a water hazard across the fairway about 100 metres from the green. Certainly makes you think about your second shot. Well worth a visit if you are on the North Coast of NSW. One unusual thing was they had Preferred Lies in play, but didn’t need them. Both of us didn’t take one all day as there are no bad lies on the fairway. An easy course to walk, green fees $33.

Played in the Sat comp a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed the course despite poor golf on my part. Preferred lie rule was strange. They must be spoilt here ,cause the fairways are pretty good. Too good for preferred lie! A couple of locals agreed. As usual playing new course sight unseen always causes problems. Three putted the first five greens and never recovered.Course is in good nick and challenging enough for a course virgin without weird pin placements on slick greens. Need more help in the club house though, hard to get a beer (and needed it). The Relic.

Must say I had a very enjoyable round at Ballina last Sunday. It did piss down with rain but after a few holes the sun came out a little and I had a very enjoyable day. Didn’t shoot that great but I find that with a new course – not knowing the depth of greens etc. Came up short a few times only to get up to the green and find no hazzards behind a larger than first appeared green. Maps of holes a little lacking and no green information

Could not fault the service and the bloke behind the desk was getting hammered by large group bookings. They had over booked carts so he had to run off and get me the marshals cart, without any comments or fuss

Would definitely play here again

Good course excellent condition, 2nd hole is signature hole. Greens true and excellent. Made to feel very welcome. Nice tree lined fairways need to be straight off the tee.

A well maintained, very scenic but fairly short course, probably indicates there are too many retired golfers living in the town who still think they should be single-figure golfers. However, the greens and fairways are very good, the gum trees lovely, nice water views on some holes and an obviously keen gardening club which have the tee surrounds looking lovely.

Ballina golf club ha siits defence wll defined tree lined fairways that when you stray into them you will be penalized.

The course is always immaculte, with permanatly warer fairways which are in excellent condition considering the ammount of traffic that they get.

The greens are hard as is to be expected again due to the traffic they get all year round.

The club has members competion every sat, wed, fri and ladies tues. Monday is vets day, all comps open to visitors.

The only thing that seems to be a constant talking point between members and visitors alike is te CCR which seems to be out kilter with other clubs and seems always to be to low for the course conditions making H/Cap adjustments difficult.
