Measures 2858m Par 36 with two par 3s ranging from 140-180m, five par 4s ranging from 280-360m and two par 5s ranging from 450-458m.
There are 9 slow small bent grass greens with 18 teeing mounds all quite close to each other. There are no bunkers on the course. Of the longer holes there are 5 slight dogleg left holes and 1 dogleg right hole and 1 straight hole.
Sprinklers are on the entire 7th fairway and halk of the 5th fairway. But fairways are mostly patchy and thinly covered with natural grass and clovers and patches of kikuyu grass on the fairways. There is small Mallee scrub with a few scattered small trees throughout the layout.
Highlights include: the opening 350m slight dogleg left 1st with the OOB stakes guarding the showground on the left of the short trees; the 180m 2nd and the 310m dogleg right 9th.
Course is accessed from O’Connor Street on the way to the World Heritage-listed Mungo National Park (150km north). Green fees are $5 for 9 holes and $10 for 18 holes.
Balranald has about 1200 people about 30 minutes north of Tooleybuc which offers a better conditioned 9-hole course. Balranald is also the gateway to the Mungo and is on the Murrumbidgee River.
