Barellan is more known as the childhood home of tennis star Evonne Goolagong than golf.
Located just north of the railway tracks on Sandy Creek Road, the course consists of 9 tiny sandscrapes holes on small mounds with no fairways, just red dirt with clusters of grass and weeds.
Barellan is about 55km north of Narrandera along the sealed Kurrawang Street (a.k.a Narrandera-Barellan Road) at an elevation of about 180m above sea level for a town of 400 people I’d recommend visiting the Commercial Hotel and Evonne Goolagong Park than playing golf here.
