You get a real sense of exclusion walking around the Barossa Valley Golf Club as any man-made sounds are few and far between except for when there’s a bit of traffic on the course. Characterised by excellent greens, the course is reasonably tough with areas where you simply will not find your ball.
The first hole doesn’t do the course justice though, and would perhpas be better if the course played with the back 9 first. The 10th being a short par 4 which rewards those that hit a straight ball with an easy second shot to a two-tiered green. However, going with the driver is risky as hitting it right can put you into one of those areas where balls aren’t often found.
The finishing holes are the first and second hardest meaning concentration for the full 18 is a must. I’m sure many rounds have been hurt by a poor finish here.
Barossa is a course that really rewards the straight hitters, and with excellent greens, generally good fairways and not a lot of noice, there’s plenty of enjoyment to be had while playing a round here.

A gem of a course, tight fairways, true greens and an interesting layout. In very good condition considering the drought. $30 green fee is very reasonable. 5 par 3s for men, but one of them is 210m long, short 218m par 4 for ladies. Par 72 for both, rating 71 for men and 70 for ladies. You should certainly make time for a game in between wineries when in the Barossa Valley.

Great course & a challenging day out. Greens some of the best in Aouth Australia. A little out of the way but well worth the drive to this pretty course. Very close to wineries & top quality restaurants -hard to beat the location.

Barossa is a very good course, I would have to rate it in the top 5 country courses in SA. Excellent, fast greens… A quality, subtly-undulating layout. A number of blind drives & second shots are required on the par 4’s & 5’s. The 6th & 15th holes are two of the prettiest par 3’s in SA, whilst the 17th (a par 3 of over 210m) is a brute. Well worth the drive.

The greens on this course must rate as some of the best in country South Australia. Comments by those who have played here are that the course offers something for everyone.
