Bembridge is a perfect course for beginners and juniors to learn golf but it also offers the perfect opportunity for the better golfer to experience shooting a low score, if they’re good enough. The clubhouse contains a pro shop, cafe and fully licenced bar and has a very relaxed atmosphere.

Golfers can enjoy a beverage or an after golf meal on the outdoor deck which overlooks the lake. There is usually little or no waiting to get onto the first tee and usually take about 90 minutes for a round. Well worth the visit.

Great course for those starting out in the game or who want to have an easy game to refine or improve techniques. Short course and not overly challenging, with no par 5’s. Watch out for the 1st hole, can mess with your head, short under 100mtr par 3.
The course is in great condition, even after all the rain we have had recently, the ball seemed to roll well on the fairways.
Fast greens and only 2 bunkers makes for a great day.
Can be very busy though. I played on a sunday @ 930am and there were 3 groups waiting to tee off and another 2 behind us.
But overall, great easy game of golf, nice laid back environment, and compared to other small 9 holes courses in the area, much better.

Measures 1854m Par 32 with four par 3s ranging from 102-152m and five par 4s ranging from 246-323m. Fairways are a little bumpy, greens very slow and teeboxes dirty and patchy in areas. Excluding the 2nd and 4th all greens are bunkerless.

Short holes with almost all par 4s driveable. But the course is frequently visited by the occasional golfer.

Highlights include the 121m 5th over water to a bunkerless green. The 269m 6th with a blind teeshot over a crest on the fairway to a bunkerless green. The 124m 9th over water left and short to a bunkerless green is a nice finishing hole.

Played here 7/8/2010 for and hour and paid $16 for 9 holes. Relaxed country feel to the place. Good course to learn on. Not for the frequent golfer.

As described below, a short course but perfect for beginners, juniors and social golfers. The course is currently in great nick, I played there Sunday and despite being the middle of winter, there was no slush – it was great. Probably not suitable for’serious’ golfers as there probably isn’t the challenge that you’ll find elsewhere. All in all though, for what it is, it’s a great little course.

PROS

  • Great for social golfers.
  • Quick round of golf - about 1.5 hours for 9 holes.

Cons

  • Good tee shots mean your 3,4 and 5 iron stays in the bag.

what a great little course. it is in immaculate condition and very quiet, both in atmosphere and players. i was literally the only person on the course for my entire round on a saturday afternoon.

not super challenging but very fun to play.

in the past three weeks i have played the dunes, growling frog, patterson river and kingston links, aside from the dunes this was maybe the best experience taking everything into account.

Like the other reviewers here, I too love Bembridge. Not really a course for a deadly serious golfer, it is perfect for the beginner. Three of us went there recently to find it lush and green despite the drought. Although it has the undulations, bunkers and water hazards, it is a fairly flat course and physically undemanding.

The course gets off to a nice easy start with a 103 metre Par 3; a smooth wedge shot will have you in the middle of the green.

The cafe and shop facilities are some of the best I’ve seen on a public course, and the people are friendly. All in all, very satisfactory.

PROS

  • Lush, undemanding, friendly, affordable.

Cons

  • Serious golfers will not find a challenge here.

I love Bembridge. It’s a short course which is great if you want to have a quick round before or after work. It is a fantastic course for learners as it’s not too long but is still a little challenging if you’re new at the game.

For the more experienced golfer, it’s great to be able to go around and shoot a low score. Don’t be fooled though as there are a few challenging holes.

The staff are great too. Very friendly, as are the regulars. Drop into the clubhouse for a coffee after the game. You will be involved in a conversation with a local within minutes. And the coffee is good.

well the locals call this course The Royal Bembridge Golf Course it has a very short 1st hole and is a very short course overall but for a person who wants to have a hit with little if any trouble and not much time up there sleeve it is ideal

Bembridge Golf Course is a privately owned 9 hole golf course which offers golfers of all levels the opportunity to play golf. The course has five par 4's and four par 3's and is a par 32. The course has only been opened a little over 10 years and has flourished into a local icon. Steve and Rhonda Chalmers decided one day to build a golf course after being in the market gardens industry for years.

Starting from scratch, with the help of friends, they carved a beautiful 9 hole golf course which winds its way around the property. The course is always kept in perfect condition by Steve Chalmers and his trusty staff.

The course opens with an unassuming short par 3 which looks easy enough, the green is wide but not very long so it offers a challenge. The second, third and fourth are all short par 4's which require accuracy off the tee with out of bounds on the right handside of all of them. The 5th is a pretty, 140m par 3 over water to a sloped green which is a challenge to hit.

The sixth is a short par 4 which requires accuracy off the tee and touch to hit the green. The green slopes away from the player and is a real challenge to hit. The 7th is a 150m uphill par three to a blind green. The 8th is a straight away par 4 which you don't want to overshoot the green with your second... Out of Bounds lurks. The finishing hole is a beautiful 150m par 3 over water and is quite difficult to hit and hold the green. What this course lacks in length makes up for in character. There is only one bunker on the course but there are many other obstacles to catch the errant shots.
