The far South Coast of NSW is one of the most beautiful parts of Australia, and certainly one of the favourite holiday destinations.

Located an hour’s drive north of the busy tourism town of Merimbula where there is an airport with regular flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra, Bermagui greets its visitors with fresh salt air and the bluest water you could wish to see. It’s here that you’ll find the Bermagui Country Club, a hive of local activity and a huge part of the Bermagui community.

You will get a warm welcome and can enjoy playing golf on our beautiful 18 hole golf course. Our Pro Shop will provide you with all the equipment and tips you need.

Afterwards, relax in the Club and treat yourself to a fabulous meal at The Terrace Restaurant, or have a cold drink and socialise. We guarantee you’ll want to come back.

Measures 6085m Par 72 with four par 3s ranging from 141-178m, ten par 4s ranging from 316-397m and four par 5s ranging from 437-471m. The course was in superb condition, from its well-manicured fairways to the teebeds to the quick but true greens.

The 177m 8th has a strange OOB left of the green with a bunker left which plays a club longer than it looks. The 164m 15th over water with 2 bunkers guarding the front of the rear to front sloping green.

The par 5s on this course are weak and lack a challenge. Both closing holes 9th and 18th are par 5s that can be driven in two.

All five front nine par 4s are challenging with its length, slight doglegs, blind tee-shots and some great bunkering. Stern test of good ball-striking golf.

Played here on Sunday in the club championship on 26/09/2010 and paid $33 comp fees. I enjoyed the 4.5 hour stroke round and will be back here that’s for sure. Greens at the moment are lightning quick.

Bermagui is only a 35km or 30 minute drive south from Narooma and both are if not the best layouts and conditioned courses on the south coast. I’d also throw Tura Beach in that mix as well as holes 10-27 at Pambula-Merimbula.

Just spent a week in bermagui, considering the worst weather for october the course was in great condition. It rained for 2 days straight and we played on the third for 7 days and only water on 2 holes. Excellent drainage. Good value for money ad have holiday memberships that are worthwhile checking out.

A very picturesque course, that plays long due to inclines on a few holes. A GOOD WALK, or fun cart round.

Friendly pro shop and locals who are only to willing to have a chat and give advise.

We have now played nearly all the courses from mollymook to eden and rate Bermagui as the best for value, course and service.

Can’t wait to go back.

A great course – fantastic condition with fast, true greens. It was a pleasure to play and the best course on the Sapphire Coast. Very friendly staff in Pro shop. Locals I met on the course were also very welcoming to the green fee player. Loved it.

Our Social Golf Club recently visited Bermagui for a two day stay. This course (must book cart)is a good examination of your golf game. The course is spread over a large amount of ground and very undulating at the top end. I would recommend any Social groups to book through the club rather than through a motel. The Club advised us that had we booked through them they could have arranged BBQ lunch on arrival, breakfast etc the next morning. Unfortunately Day 2 was washed out (I think they had about 10 inches overnight) but the club refunded all green fees and cart hire costs.

This is close to the pick of courses on the Sapphire Coast. Some flat holes at the lower end of the couse but generally undulating – providing a good mix of length and shaped fairways to test all the clubs in the bag. Without being overly punative, there is enough trouble off the fairways to encourage straight hitting.

Bermagui is a good examination of your golfing skill especially if the wind is blowing from the South. The layout is not overly long with most of the Par 5's reachable in 2 for the longer hitters.

Many of the Par 4 holes are doglegs which requires some accuracy off the tee to set you up with a clear second shot. The 1st, 9th, 10th and 18th holes are relatively flat however the rest are fairly undulating with a number of holes quite hilly. There are some very scenic holes with the par 4 15th a standout.

This course would be great to play in calm conditions but if the wind is up be prepared for a blowout score.
