Founded in 1939, Bexley Golf Club is one of Sydney’s more established clubs. Many of Australia’s finest golfers have battled the tight tree lined course with many coming off second best. Greg Norman, Peter Senior and Peter Lonard have all competed at Bexley during their careers.
The course has the reputation of being one of the most popular in the country and has produced its fair share of champions over the years. The current No1 ranked junior in Australia, Sarah Kemp, calls Bexley home.
Built on an old dairy farm the gently rolling hills and green parklands provide an ideal site for a golf course. Recent improvements include the building of two massive dams that provide all the water for a fully automated irrigation system. This ensures excellent playing conditions year round.

It is always very disappointing when course/pro-shop staff blatently OVER BOOK tee times to creat revenue at the cost of the golf course’s reputation.
This is what happened last saturday. After booking a 1pm tee-off time (just after the comp finished)i was told when i arrived that there would be a 30-40 minute wait (Judging from how many people were queued at the first ant 10th tees, this was a gross, unrealistic and dishonest understatement). This kind of delay is understandable at 5pm when delays can accumulate. But please.
Was then asked to tee off at a distant tee (i presume they wanted to spread the large amount of people over the course to prevent congestion?) only to be waiting a further 25-30 minutes to watch 5 groups (which included 2 groups of 5 people!) tee off ahead.
Let me just say, in defense of the green keepers, that the course was in A1 condition despite all the mud-stricken fairways.
In total, the round of golf took 5.5 hours. there was not one hole in which i did not have to wait many minutes before hitting a ball.
I am extremely disappointed in the tee-time allocation by the pro shop staff. They should know exactly how many people they can book and allow on the course for it not to cause this f-up.

Very tight hilly tree lined course. The fairways are very narrow in some spots so you will have to bring an accurate game. Short course as well, I only used my driver once the entire day. Was quite busy on a sunday arvo, but what do you expect on a good cheap track not far from the city.
Greens were in good nick, can’t say the same for the tees – they were pretty average some of them. Fairways were good and were pretty good.

My friends and I play at Bexley on a regular basis. For two reasons, it’s cheap and we have no problem getting a game on a Sunday.
The course itself is short, but by no means too easy. The par 3’s especially offer tough examinations. In terms of condition the greens are generally excellent considering the traffic which passes over them. The tees are a bit scruffy and some of the bunkers need a bit more attention. But for the price, this course is a bagain.

On arrival to Bexley I was not sure about this course, but after the first drive I knew it would be an exciting day. While this course may not be the longest, it really tests your short game and accuracy. Nice rolling hills and tree lined holes with bunkers galore to keep you on your toes. Lots of chances for good scores but if you end up in the 2nd cut it makes it difficult. The course is in good condition considering the long dry and the fairways are a dream to hit off. It was a most enjoyable day of golf and you had better be on your best game when playing here.

It is in good condition considering the drought, and the dam is showing the effects of being used thoroughly. Not a long course and long hitters will be able to drive most holes. 1st is a drive and chip is you hit well and most others require driver/3-wood and short iron/wedge. Can get painfully slow but it is worth a go is you can get on. Clubhouse is good and you can watch players coming up 18 from the balcony. Will return again.

This course is in better condition than any other course of this size in the inner sydney area.
At 4096m par 64, it is not long but does provide quite a challenge. Lots of changes in elevation and bunkers well placed create the difficulty.
The course is well kept, lovely fairways and greens and the tee beds weren't too bad either.
Par 3s are plentiful, perhaps a few too many around the 100m mark.
Overall a great little course at a very good price (21.50 during the week)

Nice quick round of 18 holes in 2 and a quarter hours. Must keep the ball straight on this course as adjacent fairways are quite tight. Big hitters can drive the par 4 greens here, as they measure 260m from the social yellow tees.
Par 64 4096m course from the back tees, and a little shorter from the yellow tees. Quite a good course with deceivingly quick greens. Read those putts thoroughly, otherwise you could 3-4 putt. For 18 holes on weekends its $18.50 after 3pm, $21.50 on weekdays and 26.50 weekends before 3pm.

Although this course is short, pin placement can make a huge difference to your playing game. Tight tree lined fairways and smaller greens ensure that your short game is up to standard. Since adding the dams to the course, the fairways are immaculate all year round and will present any good golfer with a challange especially with good pin placements - check out the last Wed of the month open comps for this.
P.S. NSW Insitutue of Sport apparently have this as their training venue, so must play well.

One of the shortest courses ever, if you have driver it is too tempting to have a go at every green so all the clubs you need are a driver -pw, sw, lw and putter, not one of my better days of golf but a good place to learn to play.

Any good sharp-shooter or anyone wanting to work on their accuracy will find this course reasonably enjoyable to play. With it's narrower tree-lined, and sometimes water-lined fairways and numerous dog-legs on most par 4's, you'll find you won't need your driver too often! Golfers with good long-games will be disappointed however as the course does not boast any par 5's at all. But despite that, the hilly nature of the course will ensure you'll get a descent workout.
The course and greens are in good shape, with a couple of holes under renovations.
Not a bad golf course overall.

Bexley golf course's challenge does not lie in it's length, but the accuracy required to play it well. The fairways are somewhat narrow, and many approach shots require accuracy with the irons.
This is a well established course that has undergone some renovations in the last few years. Two dams add strategy to the 1st, 7th and 8th holes, an irrigation system sees that the fairways and greens are in very good condition all year, and other improvements (such as new mounding on the 18th) see that the course's presentation is attended to regularly.
The course has a good variety of par 4's and par 3's that wind up, down and across the valley. The 10th is a challenging opener to the back nine, requiring an accurate long-iron shot 200m down hill. The par-3 5th hole is uphill and demands a very accurately placed tee shot. The par-4 8th tempts longer hitters to go for the green off the tee, but is surrounded by sand and a dam along the entire right side of the fairway. Other par 4's require only a short iron into the green, but often that is only possible with a well-placed tee shot.
Altogether an interesting course that is presented well and is kept in very good condition. An enjoyable round of golf can be had here by golfers of all standards.

At 4000 Metres the course is not long, but small greens, narrow
fairways, well placed groves of trees & the additions of 2
dams a few years ago, make this course a difficult for the
average golfer.
The golfer who insists on the driver off the par fours will
invariable find the trees sooner than later & there are 2
green reachable from the tee 8th has a dam on the right the 16th
trees cut into the fairway @ approx 200 M on the left & a
bunker on the right. Several of the par threes are short less
than 150 M but other than the 14th strategically bunkered the
pick being the 5th 150ish up hill to a very narrow green &
the 10th 199 M down hill to a long thin green with OOB on the
left & thick trees on the right.
The course has 100 Metre markers in the fairway & distances
to the centre of the green on the fairway watering sprinkler
heads.
The course favours either the long straight hitter with a
brilliant short game or the consistent mid to long iron player.
Either player must be able to stop the ball easily on their
second shot or else some of the return chips are murder.

All par 3's & short par 4's. Have worked to improve course over the last 20 years, but are limited by space.
The 10th is a good par 3 from the back tees.
