Measures 2269m Par 33 with four par 3s ranging from 100-212m, four par 4s ranging from 257-350m and the 438m uphill Par 5 7th with a bunker short left – currently in poor condition. Course has front/back nine tees no more than 50m of each other with 5 holes sharing the same teebed.
Fairways are thinly covered with mnay bare patches, grass greens are tiny and slow, teebeds are bumpy with dirt patches and the course only has 2 bunkers.
Highlights include:
- 345m 1st plays up a steep hill and doglegs left after 275m from the tee to a bunkerless green.
- 174m 2nd has superb eastern views of farmland from its elevated tee with a bunkerless green some 40m below the teeing ground with OOB over the back and right.
- 350m 9th has a narrow driving area with tall tree-lined fairway both side to the best maintained green on the course.
Played here 22/11/2010 with $10 green fees. Birregurra is ok for a town of about 700 people but with Colac’s superior full length course only 15 minutes west I feel the conditioning of Birregurra lets it down.

This is a nice little course that I played in April 2011. There is room for improvement, but you need to remember the club is totally run by volunteers and the bargain $10 green fee.
The track is a tree lined nine hole course, but several holes have secondary tee blocks. Fairways are scratchy, but on the whole, the areas you’ll be playing to the green are decent – maybe a little too fluffy if anything.
Greens were cored the week before I played and were very sandy, soft and slow.
Hospitality by the members and staff is the best I have experienced in a couple of years. They love a chat and the bar prices are ridiculously cheap. They must think it’s still 1990. It’s worth a visit here just to have a beer.
Keep your expectations realistic and you’ll enjoy your round here.
