Bombala Golf Club is the last 18 hole sand green course in the ACT Monaro district. The course undulates giving scenic views of the surrounding rural landscape. Many holes are lined with stands of mature conifers with majestic eucalypts and ornamentals providing added spectacle.
The course is divided by a intermittent waterway along which dams and ponds make an added challenge. The scenic well kept course is widely recognised as one of the most picturesque yet challenging in the region.

As you would expect from a town of 1500 or so people, the golf course is not a high priority. The course is hilly with a good layout. The fairways and the rough are generally indistinguishable, but the rough is not long grass anyway. The trick is to keep it out of the trees.
The sand greens are certainly interesting, albeit almost all perfectly flat.
If you are in the area, or passing through, for $5 you can’t go wrong.
