Yes it short, yes it is easy, yes it’s a great course for a learner to play on and whilst some people have indicated that these are negative’s I disagree. The course is fun! Thats how it should be.

Is always in good condition, some more sand in the bunkers would really sharpen the place up. Greens are in good condition and pretty good fairways and surrounds.

Even though there are a number of par 4’s that are reachable from the tee for a handy player, the greens are small and require some accuracy. Good course if you are looking to sharpen up on your short game (70m in). I’m a scratch marker and play this course regularly as and always come away feeling more positive about my chipping and pitching.

To sum up – I rate it. Good fun, easy to get on, and can realistically play 18 with a mate within 3 1/2 hrs

I do like this course it one of my most played and is a great place to learn or just have a relaxed round.

Being public you can get on at any time of any day (although maybe call ahead in case they’ve booked a social group of 30 as I found once) and youre set for a good round.

The fairways arent the best quality but the greens are surprising and there are some interesting holes. If it wasnt quite so far I’d be back a lot more often.

I love this course, and although it’s not super hard it’s always in great condition and has some interesting holes. That’s why it has rated 4 stars with some players. People that bag it are probably are not as good as they make out in their review.

Amazing landscape, but tiny, upside down saucepan greens and ridiculously short holes put it into context.

I can’t believe some have rated it 4 stars, it is not by any stretch of the imagination a true test of any aspect of golf

boomerang is the a little hidden gem nestled on the south coast , with its picturesque views its a must for any golfer who enjoys a challenging game with a good posibilites of birdies if accurate off the tee, at 4431 meters it is relativly short but still very enjoyable (except the 7th) which is a 70 to 90 chip over water with the green slooping down to the water , seen many a ball land nt that drink
the greens have been suspect in the past but now are VERY well maintained which equals true fast greens, all and all a great little course .

I’ve played this course today for the third time, I played a shocker!

But nevertheless I did enjoy myself which says a lot for the course.

It’s got nice fairways, playable rough( which I found out today), and nice manicured greens.

We teed off at 9.00am and didn’t have to wait which everyone will agree is a rare thing for a weekend., but take note when we finished up at 12.30 there was a large queue so get there sooner rather than later.

Played this course yesterday and i am finding it quite hard to put my finger on what interests me about it.

It is never busy and would be a great choice of course to bring someone out on their first game.

The fairways were green and alive and i think it was some sort of buffalo in the rough (some of which has spread widely onto the fairway). This odd grass was quite desirable to hit off...especially with wedge in hand as it is soft, spongy and the club goes through it nicely.

There is a fair ammount of water on this course and a fair ammount of unlikely holes to go with it.

It can get windy because of its closeness to the coast but it normally does not spoil this course.

Its great value aswell and is the course to go to when you dont feel like playing comp, or if you have a free Sunday.

Only downfall was the green length. They are painfully slow on some holes, then a bit quicker on others.

Good layout and i will return.

If you unexpectedly find yourself with a few hours to spare on the weekend and haven;t already booked anywhere just get in your car and fire down the Wollongong Road to Boomerang. This is a very nice little course situated about 30 mins drive South of Sydney. It's a bargain at just over $20.00.

Whilst it is a fairly short course some of the Par 3's can be quite tricky - there is water in play for most of them.

I've played here twice now - both at around 8.30 on a weekend without booking and walked straight on to the first tee.

It's very well maintained and quite picturesque with lots of water in play. Being close to the coast wind will also cause a headache or two here and there.

Definitely worth a look.

The course has quite a basic layout that lacks some distance at times. Abundant are boring short par 4's and too many par 3's leaving only 2 par 5's which is very dissapointing.

However, the overall course is pretty well maintained and the greens although pretty well maintained are damn slow with bunkers surrounding most.

The 7th doesn't require much attention at all. Just pull out the PW and a swing just a bit less than full. Execute that and your fine.

Overall, an easy course that offers a few challenges here and there. May play again in the future but would rather a longer, tougher and challenging course.

Measuring 4434m Par 67 with 9 Par 4s ranging from 220-330m, two Par 5s ranging from 410-500m and 7 Par 3s ranging from 75-200m (the Par 3s are its best assets). Holes have a flat tree-lined layout, with many straight up-and-back 240-metre par 4s, like the 11th, 12th and 13th.

Greens are in good condition but VERY slow, bunkers are well maintained as are the fairways. On that note, the fairways are treelined and some teebeds have very narrow openings. The holes worthy of mention are probably the 3rd and 4th holes that have overhead power lines running across them, making a good drive frustratingly having to be taken again. The 75 metre 7th hole, which seems to be getting a lot of attention, is all about club selection either a SW or half a PW. Other than these holes there are some very easy Par 4s that are a certain par, with possible birdie/eagles. Par 5s are a little disappointing, offering no real challenge.

Hazards include water (2nd, 3rd, 7th, 8th, 12th) and sand, protecting most greens, but no fairway bunkers on Par 5s. They also seemed to have ran out of room on the way out with the 9th hole running away from the proshop.

Cost is very reasonable as well, $20 for 18 holes on weekends/Public Holidays (played here 27/12/05) is great value. A lot of narrow holes, requires players to be very accurate of the tee. All in all, a good course and may play here again, but not in any hurry...

Very basic course. If you can't shoot under 90 here give it away. Those who lack confidence will struggle from the 7th onwards as the hole is about 20m across the water & can break people horribly. Believe me, I play with these two guys who play ok for 6 holes but as soon as they see this little hole their confidence is shot & for the remaining 12 holes it's a case of "me winning by how far". They consistently find the middle of the lake every week. It's played on one of the guys mind so bad that he has nightmares about it every night, he thinks he's drowning. His girlfriend has bought him a snorkel to sleep in.

If you can overcome this hole a good round is on the cards.

Great little golf course to play,

the fairways are in good condition unlike that goat track accross the road at illawarrawa. Definitely worth the trip down from sydney for a game with your mates.

note:
bad tempered left handers with an 11 stroke lead will struggle with the bunker on the 17th.

This is a good course to learn on as it has some great short holes (#7 is a gem) and still gives the gorillas a chance to let it fly. The last four holes are a great challenge, with a 500m par 5 running due south, followed by a 360m par 4, which is as good as a par 5 if a southerly buster comes through. Love it and will always come back.

A fairly short layout with some interesting holes, most notably the par 3 7th, with a carry over a lake to an elongated, undulating green. The greens are fairly good, if often on the soft side, but the fairways are made of a coarse type of grass. Good use is made of sand-traps that protect the green on many of the shorter par 3's. The tree-lined fairways are sometimes narrow in order to fit into the available space.

The view down to the sea-side cliffs and the distant city skyline on a clear day is spectacular.
