A reliable addition to the Sandbelt line-up. To be nice, the front 9 holes is fairly straightforward - nothing super-exciting. The best hole being the Par 3 8th over a bit of water to a tight green...requires a fairly straight shot. The back 9 is where the fun is...a good mix of moderate par 4's, some interesting par 3's and the course's only par 5 (for men).
Normally it is quite a busy course, and the realm of many social hacks - with the signature tune of golf (Fore!) echoing around the course from all directions. During the Grand Prix, the Albert Park course is closed and they all end up here (or at least try to)...so it's extra busy then.
The tees are great as usual, the fairways are standard (but not your carpet!) and the greens are usually great but have suffered a little due to the drought. We found that the young/old grass mix created a truly unpredicable putting surface - but this should come good from late March I'd think.
Bookings are rotational 7 days...so if you want to book to get on early Sunday morning, then you need to book as early as possible on the Sunday prior as many people "roll" their bookings (book the next week when they show up for this week).
