Good course for golfers who are new to the game. Is relatively straight and un-imaginative. Most par-3s are in the 150m range. The more interesting holes probably come along during the last few holes with a few dog legs and risk/reward type situations for longer hitters. Does not contain an overabundance of trees and greens are very slow. Practice facilities are also available for a nominal fee. Course is fairly empty most of the time except for weekends.

Course lacked the joy of playing a nailing a short hole. Course would suit those who possess a killer drive or enjoys their long irons as majority of holes are either a 400m+ par 4 or 5. Shortest par 3 is 160m+!

Hackers Back 9 Warning: if your tee off strays on to the next fairway, forget playing a hero shot and try to get it close to the green. Your best bet is to play it safe and play a modest shot back onto the fairway. The tree line separating the fairways is high and can be quite dense and there is a high probabilty that do will not get through.

Front 9 fairway is showing very large cracks due to the lack of water. These cracks are large enough to lose you ball in!

I don't mind hitting Bundoora every now and then, mainly because I live a 2 minute drive from the course.

The majority of the course lacks imagination. In fact the first 6 holes of the course are dead straight, many of these very birdiable. The rough is indeed rough, and always at this time of year, the fairway cracks begin to appear. Bit ones at that.

The par 3 4th will make you think, a 165mtr hole up hill, with a large green. Always tricky picking a club on this one. Hint, while walking down the 3rd, run over there and get an idea of pin position!

The back nine is generally long and boring, with the exception of a few interesting holes. But overall, this course really doesn't require a whole lot of shots, and it is good for the inexperienced golfer.

One plus about this course is that the greens are always in good nic, and balls roll very well on them.

One negative in the opinion of a student is the cost. There is a flat rate for everybody, and its a little pricy. I could pay the $12 at yarrambat for 18 and be garanteed a course in good condition, while at Bundoora it costs $14.50 for the 9...on a weekday!

It is rarely packed out, so is definitely nice if you want to go and have an uninterrupted hit with some mates.

I have fouind myself playing here occassionally over the past few months. This is a reasonably good public course (no comparison to the fantastic Yarra Bend) but still holds its value.

hardly any water in play. The rough is rough. Hit the shot a few meters off the fairway and you will encounter twigs, dry hard bare soil. 1st Hole a Par 4 - an easy 3W & Mid-Iron onto the dance floor is a good confidence builder for the high handicapper.

The 6th is a definite BIRDIEable hole & the 7th a interesting dogleg-left par 5 that testes you ingenuity with the 2nd shot (after you land the first on the fairway).

Usually moves well. We have consistently finished a round of 18 with 4 players (all in the 18 to 25 hcp. range) in an even 4 hrs.

Good value for a $21 round.

Oh yes by the way, on a hot summer day where the mercury is pushing mid 30s this place is hard work!!!!

Reasonable length track that is not too difficult. Fairways can get a bit dry and bare in places over the summer but that is the nature of this type of grass cover on a public course. The greens are generally in reasonable to fair shape.

Occasional problem on the 17th with idiots ignoring the OOB on the RHS of the 16th fairway and playing up the wrong fairway.

I personally haven't seen the Methodist Harridan but the gentle "pchhht" of the can opening doesn't usually happen with me until around 2-3 holes in anyway.

This course is a good for a good relaxing round of golf with mates. It isn't to difficult but has a couple of challenging holes. My favourite hole would have to be the Par 4 1st, as long as you get your drive on the fairway!! The rough at the course is in bad condition and is hard with sticks and stones. But apart from that the course is all good

Stuck in the middle of a huge park you can easily leave non golfers and kids in the park to play with wildlife and picnic while you get down to business. Not many bunkers and very little water (which shouldn't be in play). Reasonably flat and long enough to enable you to open your shoulders. Healthy tree growth can punish wayward shots. Can get around here in under 4 hours easily as it is well thought out. Recommend it to social golf clubs, but bring your own grog and drink it elsewhere. Methodist harridan operates frequently in club house. Get 3 holes out before you crack a can.
