I have been a a member at Burnie for a few years now, even though I lived in Sydney it was always a pleasure to get back home to play this 9 hole course.
Very friendly Members here who encourage familys out on the course so it is a great starting place for parents to get their youngsters out enjoying Golf.
One thing to be aware of is the fabled golfer that ever member fears on their group on Comp day "Fish" my fearless former neibour is always scouring the fairways looking for ways to win the Van Diemans Cresent Cup...one of the Worlds most sought after Golfing Trophys.
But seriously if you get the chance to have a hit around Burnie Golf Club it's well worth it and drop in and have a Cold Beer after your round in the friendly atmosphere of the clubhouse.

Measures around 2950m Par 36 with 18 tees and 9 greens 2 Par 3s ranging from 120-160m, 5 Par 4s ranging from 320-360m and two Par 5s ranging from 45-525m. You can go around again, but tees are around 20m of each other.
No water hazards and limited bunkers make this an enjoyable course for the social. Most holes have sloping fairways, so if you keep it on the high side, you will go well. Greens are surprisingly quick and in good condition as are the fairways and teebeds. A little boring with challenges, but not too bad.
Played here 21/7/06 and paid $12 green fees, there is a honesty box for green fees, if club is unattended, which is highly likely for this quiet course.
