Played this course just after the Seniors PGA early…WOW…this isn’t the same course I played 10 years ago!! The conditioning was just beautiful…a real credit to the ground-staff who have taken the old goat track and transformed it into what it is now!!! I just cannot believe how good it was and enjoyed every minute!! The beer on the balcony overlooking the course was a fantastic way to finish the afternoon! Cannot wait to get back and I heard some rumours from the clubhouse that they are going to develop the course more..it that’s true then I cannot wait to bring all my mates back also!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed playing Byron Bay. Its a very asthetically pleasing course… if the beach & bars weren’t enough to relax you in Byron, the golf course will. Reasonably priced as well. The only negative was that I booked a cart and confirmed it with a phone call a week prior, yet there were none available on the day. A suggestion for those travelling with a partner but thinking of playing a round… while me and a mate played golf the ladies went to the day spa across the road and had a massage, treatment etc. Happy days for all.

Played last week and really liked this course. It was in great condition with well kept bunkers, greens and fairways. The holes are made more interesting on the front 9 with the use of elevated tees and well bunkered greens. They had mixed the tee lengths up – some forward some at the back – so a couple of the par 5s were at full length. Better than Ballina which I also played.

First off the i seek golf is easy to use and appears to be well recognised by the 2 clubs i have used it on.
We arrived at Byron and driving in the course looked fabulous. Pretty excited! We were greeted by the pro saying we would probably not want to play as the greens were being scarified and aerated. We played anyway as that’s better than shopping with the boss and had an enjoyable round using the 2 putt per green method. The rest of the course was in great nick.
However i do think that i seek should be selling these rounds without a note that the course had major works under way and letting the player choose whether to play or not.

We played on Monday 12th Sept 2011. This was right in the middle of their club championships so the course was in prestine condition. The greens had been double cut and rolled so were fast and hard which took a few holes to get used to. Played the front nine in under 2 hours with a cart, even with some of the fairways roped off due to spraying, but got to the 10th and ran into a comp teeing off so it took about 2 and a half hours for the back nine. All in all an excellent course, pleasant, happy staff and value for money.

We found the electronic booking very handy, we unfortunately played the course while spraying of the fairways with pesticides was taking place so nearly every fairway was roped off. This meant driving the carts up the rough, and in some cases parking a long way from your ball and green. Hire clubs (dynacast) were horrible and outdated but the course was great value, carts and 18 holes for $37.

My wife and I played at 8am on a Monday morning in light drizzle which let up after an hour or so. The course was very wet in places after receiving heavy showers in the days preceding. The greens were very good and the course in good condition if you disregard the wet areas. We got around in less than 4 hours in a cart.

Nice golf course. Very pleasant surroundings. Fairways in good condition although greens had been sanded and were not at their best. Followed members comp on Sunday afternoon – very slow (5hrs for 18)

Friendly pro shop – very helpful

Will go again as had a nice afternoon albeit a bit long.

Good value for money

The course is very attractive and has some nice holes. The greens were heavily sanded and will come good with the warmer weather. Fairways also needed a bit of sun to cover some bare patches. The area around the 15th green causes confusion as a arrow indicates the next tee which is actually the 18th so we missed the 16th and 17th holes.

I played BB GC on Sept. 2. The course was in average shape and the first 3 holes were totally under repair!!!!!!!! Not a very relaxing start to the day. Under the conditions, I would have expected at leats a 50% discount.

One of the worst courses I’ve played, The holes are very close together and the directionals leave a lot to be desired. The next day I payed the Tweed head course which was cheaper and much nicer. Other than the 4-some of men who thought they were on the pro circuit and needed 6 hours to play 18 holes of golf!

"What a gem" Played on Saturday. Gary and the guys at the pro shop were awesome and very helpfull. Some of the tee blocks are awesome. The layout great and value for money up there with the best. The only detractor was the service we received from a young girl in the clubhouse who had obviously had a big night and was just plain rude to all of us.

I could play here for the rest of my days easily and i have played the sandbelt in Victoria and the likes of St Andrews. Great layout, condition and facilities not too mention the town! Any jobs going in Byron? Membership only $750!

I played there yesterday with my wife after a round at Ocean Shores on the weekend and def like Byron Bay better. The Condition was exceptional and I found the design excellent but tough. Def better to come up short than go long for anyone playing it is the future. Found this course as enjoyable as the Sunshine and Gold Coast resort courses we have played in the past 2 months.

A walkway to the tee on 4th would be good but I don’t see problem if your pulling a cart. Players in front of me did have cart but it only took them 30 seconds to clear the path for my approach (that went into the water) Don’t understand the point made about the 6th green also as from memory you cannot see the 6th green from the 7th tee.

Unfortunaely cannot say I scored well but its certainly been a highlight on our golfing trek so far especially the great town also. Must mention very friendly in proshop and bar.

My wife & I were staying in Lennox Head in March 07 & played this course several times. I found the pro shop & club staff to be very friendly & helpful.

The course was in fantastic condition (better than the Gold Coast resort courses) & not too difficult to negotiate for high handicappers like us.

The Carts with GPS made the game all the more enjoyable & all were in good working order & clean.

The view from the deck outside the 19th is excellent giving a good overview of 18th.

I played this course December 12, 2006. At the time there was a lot of work occuring on the back nine which will definetely add to the character.

The course is very short, condition is always good without being better than that. I have played it 6 times now passing through town.

It's not expensive and is worth a visit but that would be all. Staff and members can be a little gruff to outsiders but we all expect that.
