Good course. Gets a bit hard after a long dry spell but all in all its a good course set in quiet surroundings.
Interesting holes requiring more thought that just bang ti down there and get the wedge out.
Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Calliope Country Club is one of those nice quiet country courses only 20 minutes inland from Gladstone. The hospitality is very warm and the beer is always cold.
The golf course is both challenging and relaxing.
There is a good mix of power and touch holes on both the back and front.
This would have to be one of the nicest country courses I have played on.

I’m not going to lie, but this course was just shocking when I played it. The greens were just plain awful and terrible. I think they had just been cored, but the large holes throughout the green might suggest otherwise. Balls would jump significantly that my partner and I deciced to stop scoring our cards, as we realised it was just so hopeless and “not golf like”. On the of the holes there was a sprinkler watering the green, and we has to hurry up and putt before it came back to us. We still got wet. Unbelievable. Bunkers were terrible and I guess the fairways were ok We had been visiting the state and came across Gladstone, and we were up for a game of golf. Unfortunately the course did not match the nice scenery that surround the “golf course”.
