Measures 5536m Par 72 with four par 3s ranging from 155-171m, ten par 4s ranging from 241-360m and four par 5s ranging from 447-467m. Course is ok with good fariways and teebeds although some bumpy lies but good grass coverage with slow, flat greens with 3 bunkers on the entire course.

The first 6 holes are quite boring, just up and back with slight doglegs around a hill. The back nine is more picturesque with the lake coming into view on most holes and a little more challenging with some tall tree-lined fairways and the only bunkers on the course.

Holes worthy of mention include the:

  • 467m downhill dogleg left 8th with its elevated tee overlooking the club & lake.
  • 447m dogleg left 11th with tall tree-lined fairways both sides – don’t go too far down the rightside as your second shot to the green is tree-blocked.
  • short 241m dogleg left 16th with bunker short of the green.
  • 450m slight dogleg left 18th with 2 bunkers rightside of the green.

Played here 23/11/2010 with $15 green fees. Course is located 4km west of town along Fenton Street off the C164 road to Cobden or 45 minutes east of Warrnambool. As mentioned it has a nice location between the crater lakes Gnotuk & Bullen-Merri, although you only see Lake Gnotuk from the course. Camperdown GC is not too bad a town of around 3500 people.

Not many people know about Camperdown Golf Course, but it is one of the nicest places to play golf. The location is 5km from town southwards between to inland lakes and is quite hilly. Despite this the walking is not too taxing because many of the holes are constructed across the slope. You eventually arrive at the 8th the highest point on the course with one of the lakes in the background. A superb golf hole. The par is 72 but the course is only around 5600m. The greens could be better and there are few bunkers. The fairwaya are buffalo grass on many of the holes. The condition of the course is ok, but if it was better it would be rated very high because of the unique location. Judge for yourself if you play it sometime.
