10 Dec 2010 – Second time playing golf in Australia after 2 years. Played 24 holes of golf starting at 3:15pm for $12 – can’t beat this price! Still as good as I remember for a full-size 9 hole course. Fairways were in good shape. Greens were also in good shape but hard and medium fast – some may like this but I thought the greens could use some water.

This may be Sydneys best 9 hole public golf course,it has solid holes with the uphill long par 4 6th being as tough a par 4 as a public course is gonna throw at you! The greens are always good with plenty of cover on them and the fairways are great. Play can be slow but thats because it’s a popular track which speaks for itself. The pro shop is exceptionally well stocked and parking is great. Only 20mins from the CBD on the M5.

Nicely maintained public course. I played at 7AM on a weekday and it was empty. No bunkers and most of the holes are fairly straightforward. I thought that the greens were very fast.

Probably not much of a challenge for accomplished golfers but I really enjoyed the variety in this course. There’s a nice mix of par 5’s, 4’s and 3’s.

Played on 15 Dec 2008. First golf in Australia in 3 years. Average experience. Good nine hole course of decent length with one Par 5 and three Par 3s. Greens are in good condition, fairways in average condition. Average price for 18.

I didnt expect canterbury to be this good. Good greens and fairways with practice facilities and a good clubhouse. A good course for beginners with no bunkers. Good green fees. This is a lot better than Hurstville.

It’s cheap, fairly well kept and good for beginners (easy course). Only 9 holes. No booking required. If you go during off-peak times, you can get straight on. Other times, expect to half an hour.

This course has slowish greens and the fairways are quite dry. Played here last week and waited for 1/2 hour before hitting a shot. Practice nets and putting greens make the wait easier to deal with, but the addition of bookings would make this course better.

It is a relatively easy course with most holes requiring iron off the tee to set up easy approach, or driver off the tee to have a chip left. Par 5 here plays hard in wind, but should not need to hit driver 3 wood to reach it. If you are a 10 or better handicap, expect to get close to par if you play well. Needs bunkers desperately. Good value, needs improvement.

Played here on last Sunday. The greens are very nice and the fairways are kept in good condition.

We arrived around 2:00pm, and waited for one and half hours! Paid for 18 holes ($16.50) but only 9 holes can be finished before dark.

I've played here a couple of times.

For a cheap 9 hole public course it's not too bad but it could be made SO much better with the adition of some bunkers - there are absolutely none at all.

The only real gripe I have with this place is the ridiculous queue to play on a weekend. There's no booking a tee time - you just have to rock up and take your chances. I've got there fairly early in the morning both times I have played - the latest being about 8am and waited for well over an hour both times.

If you can work out a way to avoid the queues and you can't get on anywhere else then it's probably worth a go - but I wouldn;t bother on a weekend morning.

There is no ACR is not listed on the scorecard. But for a 9 hole GC it is not too bad. The course measures 2215 metres Par 34 from the back blue tees and has no bunkers on the course.

1st: 165m Par3. Straight hit with a mid-iron

2nd: 102m Par3. Wedge will do the work.

3rd: 214m Par 4. Straight wood, but tee has being moved up from 295m

4th. 259m Par 4. Slight dogleg to the left can be reached from the tee. OOB on the right

5th: 441m Par 5. Land it on the downslope of the fairway and reachable for 2.

6th: 355m Par 4. Not as easy as it looks. Plays the hardest hole. Slight dogleg to the right to an elevated green that drops off sharply.

7th: 123m Par 3. Straight hit can do the job. OOB on the right

8th: 297m Par 4. Slight dogleg to the left. Good drive can set up birdie.

9th: 259m Par 4. Same as the 8th hole, but dogleg to the right.

Played here on 25/11/05 and paid $8 for 9 holes after 5pm (Monday to Fridays only), otherwise you pay $14 for 9 holes. Use the course as a practice course.

This is not much more than a practice course. An ACR is listed, but I doubt it would be 68. It should be more like 65.

A couple of the bunkerless par 4's you can drive.
