For courses in this area, this one is great. The fairways are consistently cut and the greens are in excellent condition and a good size. The pro shop is nice and the brasserie is spectacular.

If you want good greens, nice fairways and a good days golf then check it out.

Played at Carnarvon a couple of weeks ago, and while other courses were starting to dry out, Carnarvon was pretty green.
The course while in good condition, doesn’t seem to have any signature hole, which makes it hard to rave about, and leaves the lasting memory to how slow play was.
The main problem was many groups of four (ours was two), who would start the process of assessing a putt, lining up a putt and then 3 putting AFTER one of the group has putted out. To speed up play you would normally do most of this while waiting your turn to putt.

I don’t want to sound racist (it could be anybody) but this seems to be the way Japanese play the game and they all seem to play the game in the same manner.

Would I play there again. For sure, but as part of a comp. or during a quieter day.

This course is on the slippery dip, played open comp today very, very dissapointing. The greens are so inconsistent you can’t get into a rythm.

The fairways, if you miss them by a foot you’ll more than likely be hitting off clay. Now for the major problem SLOW play this course is pathetic.

Today had the displeasure of playing behind a director of the club and a few of his cronies after bragging about how they played off 4.5 etc etc outside the pro shop, they then proceeded to take 2hrs 45mins to play 9 holes (what a joke) we played through at 9 but damage done.

Never a truer word spoken …the fish rots from the head down…AVOID

Played in anopen day last week and quite disappointed with course compared to previous years. Initially the course was good, although a few greens were inconsistent. However, after playing 4 holes the quality of the fairways seemed to gradually decrease and areas around greens were very patchy. Would not bother going back.

Have played here many times and I got to say it is a fair test of golf. The course is long but fairways are open. Not much water around but there are some OOB to catch the errant tee shots. The greens are large with some difficult undulations but vary in pace depending on time of year.

The par 5’s are short and are definate birdie opportunities. The par 4’s vary in length with 3 of them over 400m. The par 3’s are challenging with the shortest at 160m. They have many bunkers but even if you hit the green 3 putting is quite easy.

Playing here is a pleasure and suits most types of golf games. People here are easy going with rounds sometimes lasting longer than normal because the course is long. Overall Carnarvon is worth the time playing.

The course is wide open on most holes, long, and in good nick. Unspectacular but great value and good fun if you get there on a quiet day. But that’s a BIG if.

Sadly becoming more and more crowded. Slow play is a disease here, not helped by the pro-shop assistants who don’t seem to have control over the visitors or members who won’t do the right thing. In social play – groups of 5, groups heading straight to the 10th tee and holding up the field, and individuals playing holes in random order just to avoid having anyone in front. This is not every so often – it happens all the time now.

On a bad day it’s total chaos. As a member I have noticed the steady decline in the golfing experience over the past 3 years or so, and without going into further detail is has a lot to do with a dramatic change in membership.

Worth a shot for the course itself, but pray for a quiet day…

Played course early on a sunday morning with a social club. Course is well layed out with a good variety of holes. Course condition was excellent with pure kikuyu fairways and immaculate greens. Lack of water hazards mazkes it a good course for the golfer of low to average skill. A pleasure to play and well worth a visit. Well worth a visit.

The course itself is really nice and in great condition. Unfortunately the amount of time waiting for slow players and tee off was a major problem.

It took nearly 8 hours to play 18holes and I found myself standing behind 3 or 4 other groups at each tee all day.

If your considering this course I suggest that you don't go on Fridays and start before lunch!

Played here this week in the comp for the first time. Not all that impressed as the greens were in bad condition - I think they must have been cored recently as they were not true at all. The layout of the course wasn't too bad although a little monotonous. Due to the course being bounded by some major roads, it was noisy and dusty as hell as trucks rumbled by very close to the tee boxes and greens.

Good aspects were the club house and the cost of the comp. However, not my cup of tea.

Good value for money course. Great fairways, some long challenging par 4's. Overall a pleasant golfing experience.

I have played this course a few times now and it appears to be in good nick all year round. Most of the fairways are quite generous but the course plays long as you don't get much run off the spongey, lush fairways. The greens are quite slick too making putting difficult to negotiate at times.

The best holes are the par 4, 5th and 14th. The 18th is a tough finishing hole with a lake that comes into play down the right hand side.

Green fees are $35 for a visitor, quite reasonable considering the condition of the course.

Overall I would rate this course at 7.5 out of 10.

I played this course about eights months ago on a sunday afternoon with a mate. The greenfeas were $30 which I didnt mind paying as this course is kept in very good nick.

This course is heavily covered in treeline. The fairways are generally wide on most par 4s and 5s. The front nine is exposed to wind on a few holes that did make it tricky.

The backnine was a real treat. The beautiful treeline fairways, fluffly fairways made playing a gem. I must say that if you are stuggling with the putter I suggest you work on it. The greens at this course are lighting quick.

In all this course is in prime condition.

Tight, tree lined course with some good par 4's. Greens small & relatively fast, but not heavily bunkered.
