Playing there semi regularly now, and the course is lush and in good nick. It starts off with a generous and straighforward par 5 before asking more of your golf game. The course is pretty flat, and gains it’s difficulty mainly via changes in direction, and some good green and bunkering complexes. The holes at each par level vary in length so you will use most of the clubs in your bag. The course has a few intersting par 4’s where driver isn’t the best option of the tee, but a lot will still try with the big dog. There are a coupe of risk reward holes to enjoy, or to challenge you, but for the most part it’s keeping your ball in play in this parkland setting, and leaving it in the correct locations that will assist in getting a good score.

The greens themselves while not big, also have some interesting slopes to them, so putting your irons close can make things easier.

The course as I said is pretty lush as there seems no shortage of watering, so even now, in the middle of summer you won’t get lots of run once you ball hits the ground. This is target golf where you aim and shoot and watch the ball drop and stop ……. and it’s in a relaxed quiet location.

Once your on this course you won’t see any housing developments, it’s just you and the course, and thats always nice. Before and after the round, and the pro shop is well stocked and the bar is open. The club itself has a relaxed feel to it, and ht price for a round is certainly very reasonable for what you get.

When is the Frankston City Council going to realise they need to throw a heap more money into this golf course to improve it and make it a really good golf course????

Who designed the new 4th hole along the road?? What a total disgrace I’ve never seen such a poorly designed hole in my life!!!!

very good public course, beautiful greens, fantastic santa ana couch grass, and a brilliant price for a splendid round of golf.

Very long course, said to be in the top 5 longest courses in Victoria. Don’t let that worry you though the layout and challenge is excellent for all types of players. Great value for money with good to excellent fairways and greens. Very busy on w’ends, Ladies day Tuesday mornings and club day on Thursday morning. I give this course three stars with an extra one for value as the price for a round is excellent.

used to play this all the time. Condition of this course has fallen away, overwatering all summer. Will play it again though. Playing more at Mt Martha now with my mates instead.

Used to love this course…. But in the last couple of years it’s been a real disappointment. You wouldn’t believe the amount of watering that goes on there. It can be a 40 degree day and you are slushing around in puddles. As other reviewers have said, it is a long course, but you get NO value for your shots. You can hit a beautiful drive, and have it plug in the fairway – IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER!! It’s a joke! Since they got the recycled water from the treatment plant they have absolutely drowned this course.

We don’t bother any more.

Probably top 5 public courses in Melbourne (I’m starting to exclude the so called Public Courses that feel the need to charge $60 – $100 a round – not sure that many of them can justify the cost). Beautiful condition just about every time I’ve played there. Some really good challenges. Can get very slow, especially when you tee off mid-morning which lets face it, it’s just about the only time you can get a booking with groups pre-booking a year in advance on Sundays.

The longest greenest course that is open to the public 365 days of the year. A few changes are being made at the moment so the 4th is not in play. Instead there is a par 3 after the 9th to make up the 18 holes. Even though the course is reasonably flat it is a very good challenge because of the distance of most holes especially the 17th and 16th and a 198metre par 3 thrown in for good measure.

This is a fairly flat course, practically no hills at all. Couple of tough holes early on (well for me anyway) then continues on for a relaxing game of golf. Great course for a few mates to have a round at while sucking on a can or two of natures finest.
