The course is an eighteen hole, Par 65 metropolitan course. The outward nine (holes1-9) is 2338 metres long with a par of 33. It includes two par fives, two par fours and five par threes. The inward nine holes (holes 10-18) is 2034 metres long with a par of 32. There are five par fours and four par threes.
Thus, at 4372 metres in total, the course is not over long but requires premium accuracy. A delightful feature is the lack of adjoining roads which makes for a very peaceful journey.

This little course is very lush with a central water feature that adds lots of character to this tight and peaceful course. The clubhouse is currently under renovation and the course is offering a generous membership at this time. If you live close its worth becoming a member to tighten up your short game and accuracy.

This is the worst course I’ve ever played, or am likely to play. It is -Short: 9 par 3s and only 2 par 5s) -narrow -badly designed: many of the holes overlap with other holes and at least two pairs of holes actually cross over each other! -badly maintained: wander off the fairway and you could be in rough that has never been cut.
Not only is the course incredibly uninspiring, but the pro shop is incompetent beyond belief. A friend and I played in an open comp here recently. After checking in at the pro shop we were told we should come back in a few minutes while they processed our GolfLink details. In the end it took them about 20 minutes, and then they got my details wrong. After another 20 minutes they announced that they couldn’t fix the error.
We then teed off about 20 minutes late, due to them not marshalling the start very well. At the end of the round we discovered that my friend’s handicap on his scorecard was wrong.
Do they want visitors at all?

Chatswood Golf Club is nestled in this very busy suburb, but provides one of the most peaceful rounds of golf the city has to offer. The course is a well rated par 65, and is great for begginers through to seasoned players. It will test your accuracy and temprement and will reward the brave and punish the wayward. Don’t pay for parking at Chatswood Chase, drop your partner off and go and play this course! A recent change of caterer has greatly improved the food available; I sometimes go there just for lunch.

Played here for the first time Sat 14 Jul 07. Challenging course for a high handicapper, but loved it. A course which makes you think….

I played here 17/3/06 and played off back plates, and it only measured 4372m Par 65 with nine Par 3s ranging from 115-210m, 7 Par 4s ranging 210-405m and 2 Par 5s 458m and 472m. I can not say that I have the same love for the course as the first reviewer, but the course is not to be underestimated. A few things you should know, is that if you miss the par 3 greens off the T, you will find it hard to par the hole - as you find yourself trying to chip into the bank of the green just to stop the ball from rolling off the green again. The greens were recently cored so, now they have a sandy base with bumpy slow tops. Bunkers protect about half of the greens on the course, but I did not find one, so can not comment from experience. Teebeds looked a little worn as did the fairways.
However it does lack a challenge and options off the tee, with similar clubs used off most holes. Average length of par 3s is 155m with holes 3-7 inclusive all between 140-210m, so it can become a little mundane. The back nine is most disappointing with 2 shared/cross over fairways, and poor 5 finishing holes. I do not like that part of the course, as they lack challenge (apart from the blind tee shot on the 404m Par 4 12th) and quality fairway lies. The front nine I was a little more impressed with. The two par 5s are quite a challenge to play to handicap, and the only time your driver comes out of the bag. The Par 4s generally lack distance, but make up for accuracy with your low irons. Best holes 183m Par 3 3rd over the right-edge lake, 472m Par 5 8th with Lane Cove River along the right side and the green protected by bunker on the right and Swaines Creek in front.
Good facilities includes: driving nets, chipping green, putting green and a small clubhouse with sweeping views of the course and lake. Weekdays after 3pm it costs $15 for as many holes as you like, probably the better time to hit off as the course can become busy, and with the par 3s, there is bound to be traffic on weekends.

Having played some great courses now, I wouldn't rush to play here again.
It lacks substance and isn't a very interesting course.

Chatswood GC is a good course, well developed and well maintained, while the back nine does drag on a bit, it is a well undulated course and is positioned in the backblocks of the West Chatswood area. With long par 5's and short par 3's you will definitely need refreshment for it is a hike and a half back to the clubhouse, which is positioned on the top of the large Chatswood hill. Good course and will play there again.

Chatswood Golf Course is a short 18 hole par 64 course set in a small valley along the Lane Cove River, located only 1km from the bustling chatswood station on the upper north shore. A reasonably well maintained course seeing as it has such a high quantity of players throughout the week. Although at times can be fustrating due to slower less experienced players it is a course that has been well planned and presents a challenge to higher handicappers of around 15+. Chatswood offers you a diverse landscape with streams, creaks, the lane cove river, the lane cove national park and so on.
Chatswood does however provide some variation throughout the course with all sorts of interesting shots; a tee shot over a lake, tiered greens and tees, long par 5's, picturesque par 3's and more. Although short (having 5 par 3's in a row on the front 9) the course does have some longer more challenging holes such as the par 5 8th which is flanked on the right by the lane cove river. Although having a few challenging holes most leave little to be desired.
If you enjoy your golf you will enjoy playing any course and this one certinaly does it's job. I do enjoy playing this course but would only recomened it for social games and/or for a bit of practice. Choose your tee times carefully to avoid slow and exasperating amatures.

Just a look at the score card tells you this place is a little different. There's 4 consecutive par 3's on the front nine and more on the back, but it's a great test of golf.
I played in the Friday comp, open to all golf club members and had a great day. None of the par threes are gimmes, all either of a good length or to raised greens.
I really liked the par 4 10th where you hit off virtually from the verandah of the clubhouse, across a huge valley.
Great value and a nice atmosphere in the clubhouse too!

I've played this course a few times and found it to be pleasant. Well grassed and fair. Not a long course, but suits it par.

There are 1 or 2 good holes, but if you are hitting the ball well then you should not have too much trouble. The driver is not needed much, (I use 3 iron off the tee on a lot of the par 4's & still only have a wedge to the green) & if you use your head & position the ball well you should score well.
The course is generally in reasonable condition, even in dry times.

A beautifully situated and challenging Par 65 Public and Private course offering a rich variety of landscape, water ways and vegetation, with even a few friendly members to make you feel welcome.
After playing Chatswood you'll be sure to remember the picturesque "Wedding Cake" 6th hole. You'll probably not forget the quite sanctuary of the Lane Cove River and National Park bordering the 8th hole. Quite possibly you'll break out into a sweat recalling the notorious 404m 12th hole with it's blind tee, narrow fairway and treacherous approach shot over a disembowelling gorge. One day you may even be able to tell your grandchildren about the 18th.. How you fired your tee shot through a narrow shute of trees, across a creek for an approach shot up a steep hill to a narrow, steeply sloping green seemingly carved into the side of an ancient rock face.
You'll find a course that presents every kind of course feature imaginable including:
- tee shots over a lake
- left to right sloping fairways
- right to left sloping fairways
- fairway and greenside bunkers
- two tiered greens
-200m steep downhill par 3
- creeks to the right of fairways
- creeks to the left of fairways
- creeks crossing fairways
- sharply rising par 4's
- a blind tee shot
- long par 4's over doglegging gorges
- rock faces lining fairways and greens
- par 3's over a gorge
- banked greens
- par 3's fringed by creeks
- challenging par 5's
- and more.
Straight hitters are well rewarded on the relatively narrow and shorter fairways. At 4372m, the course is won over with finesse, judgement and skill.
Take a peek at Chatswood GC, amazingly just a kilometre from Chatswood, Sydney's 3rd largest CBD.

Played here for the first time recently and was very pleasantly surprised. Outstanding renovated clubhouse with breathtaking views over the scenic valley the course is set amongst. Pro shop staff were very welcoming and the course itself is a little tight and challenging. Favourite holes were the par 5 ( 2nd ) , the 10th hole tee off has spectacular views and the par 4 ( 12th ) is a challenging 405m hole with a blind tee shot…... This course has no adjoining roads and is very peaceful and very scenic. Good value and I will definately play a few more rounds here …..
