Mmmm.. OK so the person who wrote the previous review wins. Why you say? because I made my way down to this course based on this and was a little confused?? Where did the lake go? and the bunkers? and the sculptured fairways? Maybe this review got placed under the wrong course, but in closing a cute family 9 hole course, not one for the serious golfer.

A majestic course in the tradition of tpc@sawgrass,beautifully manicured bermuda f'way's,the course itself contains 450 bunkers and 12 lakes, some would say there are too many hazards I say just don't hit it in the s#$t,most greens are triple or quadruple tiered, and have recently been voted the best in the southern hemisphere.Designed by Pete Dye it is known as his greatest work to date, off course there is a casino,cinema,4restaurants,hotel,wedding chapel, tenpin bowling, massage therapy, strip club just to name a few.The club is members only costs around $45,000 which is quite a fair price, but like the mcc there is a long waiting list approx 16 years, but this course put's all other courses to shame.A feature is the par 4 first hole I rate it the hardest starting hole in australia at 280m with water crossing the f'way three times at around 200m,240m and 260m it demands precise shotmaking as do all the hole's here.

A well groomed course in the tradition of Royal Melbourne, beautiful couch f'ways gently undulating with many strategically placed fairway bunkers and mounds, with some interesting variations in height.
The greens are large and undulating, bent grass at it's best. This course was recently ranked the no.1 9hole course in the world, and it has been admired the world over.It has extensive world class practise facilities, and has on course accommodation, restaurant, casino and over 30's disco.Signature hole would be the par 4 9th,with a carry of 250m just to make the fairway, which slope's left to right towards a cluster of deep bunkers, approach shot's are hit over tree's to a three tiered island green overlooked by the enormous clubhouse, unfortunately the waiting list to get a game stands at 28 months so I suggest you book now for a chance to witness golfcourse design at it's finest. All in all a breathtaking, difficult and majestic course.

Chelsea Public Golf Course, fondly referred to by locals as “Royal Edithvale”, is a short course which is unthreatening but hard to tear apart. A feature of the course is its small greens which make for some tough par 3’s (6,7,8) although the par 4’s are too easy for bigger hitters. The kikuyu fairways provide a nice surface to hit from although chipping to greens requires precise landing to get avoid having to chip again.
Given the short distance the course would be ideal for youngsters looking to learn the game although you might want to keep a close eye on where other golfers are hitting as the cramped layout has its dangers. Most holes have trouble on the left so the course sets up beautifully for slicers but if you play a draw or hook you might want to throttle back on a few tee shots.
The course provides an interesting challenge for casual golfers and is a good place for those who play less frequently. More serious golfers may want to check out some of the surrounding courses in the area to fully test their game.
