Played there on the weekend. Okay – given that there has been little or no rain in the past few weeks, the fairways are in pretty poor condition. That being said, the course layout is good. There is a good variety of holes for the long hitters. Some greens could actually do with more bunker protection to make them more challenging.

chirnside is close to my work so i like coming ere for a quick nine after i finish. its fairly up and down especially on the front 9 where there’s some good climbs. the back 9 is mostly flat except for the closing 2 holes. greens are usually in great nick but the fairways is the courses weak point. best time to play here and find the fairways at there best is late spring/early summer, the course gets boggey in winter and its too dry through out the summer unless after some rain. still waiting for a possible relocation but its been put on hold for the moment.

Chirnside is a beautiful golf course with good conditioned greens and fairways. Chrinside is a pritty hilly course but good for all type of golfers.

I haven't played there in a couple of years but it wasn't too bad a course. It didn't suit my game however. It had very spongy grass on the fairways. The ball always seemed to be 2-3 inches above your feet. I prefer a firmer track.
I believe that they are trying to sell off the land for housing and are trying to buy some land next to the Yarra River to rebuild, somewhere up near the Heritage course.

After the below reviews I was a little worried when invited to play at Chirnside Park Golf Course HOWEVER I had a game there last week and thought the course to be a great test of golf.
There was a good mix of short and long holes to test your full game out.
The greens were as good as at any public course I've played being beautifully smooth and very good speed.
The fairways were lush and green and beautiful to hit off.
The course has a couple of big hills to test your endurance but the majority is just gently undulating.
All in all I had a very enjoyable day on the course and I can't wait to bring more mates along next time.

I played here 2 weeks ago, and I won't be returning for a
very, very, VERY long time. The fairways & tees are just
dustbowls - I'm dead serious when I say you'd much rather
be in the sand than dead centre on the almost completely
grass-ridden fairways. Here is virtually no water in the course
whatsoever. The only grass on the course is found on the greens,
which are actually pretty good (some questionable slopes
aside!).
As the last review states, the course is set on a very small,
hilly piece of land, which causes that crammed-in sort of fell -
there are some holes where the next tee is squished in next to
the fairway, practically right in front of the green! However,
there are a few good holes - the short par 3 17th, which is
played uphill 135m into a massive, sloping double-tiered green
(think National Old) at the front of a huge sand dune, springs to
mind.
All in all, don't even bother for the next 20 years or so, because this course is more or less dead.

The course is severely undulating...there are some serious hills about! It is just as well too because the course really relies on these contours for any degree of challenge or intrigue. The course is set on a small piece of land and it shows. Some holes are squashed and rely on a uphill slope to potect them. Bordered by houses on each side the club has had many problems and currently hasa had to reduce one par 4 to a makeshift par 3. Condition of fairways is quite poor and with a lack of future resources being allocated there does not seem much hope of improve. On the positive side, the greens are of an excellent standard, even though thier undulations are, at times, questionable.

Played there last weekend and was surprised to see they must have had a whip around at the club house and got enough cash to buy some sand for the bunkers and tend the greens.
With the speculation that it is closing down soon it was surprising to see that the course was in goood condition actually the best condition i have seen it in years.
As previously stated it has a good variety of holes and some hilly terain. The greens were true and quick. the fairways were still pretty ordinary though.
