A good course for some after work practice in the summer, but not a lot else. Seems to have been let go of late.

Due to the lack of rain, the course is like a desert. But the greens have been well taken care of and are a nice looking green. Though they are perfect putting surfaces most do not provide much of a challange. The course is not much of a challenge to those experienced players. Even though the course is situated right next to the moorabbin airport, the planes and helicopters do not interrupt much. Overall it is not a bad course, though the sand does hurt some good shots.

I used to be critical of this course because the dry fairways gave you bad/good bounces and you got some very bad lies. Interesting enough, albeit dead flat course with a few creeks thrown about. Since they have grown decent grass on the fairways it has improved immensely and you can actually use the right clubs. Well done City of Kingston.

This course is getting better with a bit of rain. The greens are in superb form and are a dream to putt on...definitely lifts it's rating above average now - and the pitch marks I mentioned in the last review were non-existent this time (maybe they read my comments :-)

It's also a great course for improving your score as you can concentrate on your shots, rather than getting out of trouble...my short game is getting better by leaps and bounds :-)

An interesting course. This one is tucked up next to Moorabbin Airport and continuous traffic of planes and helicopters is the norm...sometimes there are so many helicopters around you could be mistaken for thinking you are playing in a tournament. :-)

Good mix of holes with plenty of interesting dog-leg holes. This is a course you need to play a bit to understand strategy. It's also an excellent beginners course as bunkers are uncommon and there's lots of bailout areas - have a really bad mis-hit and the most punishment you can expect is to be on the wrong fairway. Or...on the last 9 holes there is a nasty creek to negotiate. A lot of balls vanish into that (not mine of course!)

The layout is above average and very pleasant to walk. The grass on the tees however is quite thick and it's not easy to tee the ball up high. The greens are in great form but suffer a little from a general lack of ettiquette from the average player you find here (not repairing pitch marks etc). Also, the carpark is quite narrow and care needs to be taken when backing out (I knocked over a guys set of clubs...must have put them in the middle of the road...they didn't hit anything when they fell over)...so back in and drive out forwards. The exit sign from the 18th hole takes you to a turnstile that doesn't look like you could take a buggy through, so just head for the entrance.
