This 12-hole course established in 1908 measures 3789m Par 48 with two par 3s ranging from 140-163m, eight par 4s ranging from 291-357m and two par 5s ranging from 435-470m. To play 18 holes, you play the first 6 holes again (measures 5577m Par 71).

The fairways are lush green couch whilst the greens although quick are dormant-like yellowish/brown couch. The teebeds are lush and flat. The greens here are good, large sized and slightly undulating. There are 7 well-sized bunkers with good sand coverage. The Cobden Creek is a natural waterway with mown steep banks which flows through town and across 5 holes on the course. Most holes are tree-lined with wide fairways.

Good holes include:

• 319m slight dogleg right 1st with its large double green with the 8th bunkered left and right.

• 140m 7th with a teeshot over the Cobden Creek to a green protected by bunkers shortside left and right.

• 325m slight dogleg left 8th with a teeshot across Cobden Creek with tall trees alogn the left to the wide double green 1st/8th which is bunkered front and over the back.

• 335m 11th doglegs right after 180m off the tee with a creek which cuts across the fairway about 110m from the 2-tiered green which slopes to the right.

*357m gentle dogleg right has a wide fairway and a large green which could improve with a few bunkers.

• The newer holes (9, 10 & 11) have shrubs and stake trees no higher than 1 metre, but over time will grow tall.

Played here 23/11/2010 with $10 green fees. Located in the centre of town Cobden is very well maintained and is far better conditioned that nearby courses within 15 minutes drive (Camperdown, Terang and Timboon). I highly recommend a round here.
