Coffin Bay measures 2743m Par 36 with two par 3s ranging from 119-184m, five par 4s ranging from 244-342m and two par 5s ranging from 460-477m.
There are 9 black soils greens with 18 alternate tee mounds if you wish to play from the back nine tee mounds. There is a short tree-lined fairway layout with very lush kikuyu fairways and tee mounds.
The small town of Coffin Bay has around 650 people and is less than 30 minutes west of Port Lincoln and quite possibly receives more rainfall than Port Lincoln as this course was extremely lush when I visited it on 20/09/2011. Course access is from the end of Giles Road. Fees are $10
I’d really like to see grass greens here as the layout is interesting and the clubhouse and course is on the edge of the Coffin Bay National Park. Until this happens the course offers basic golf facilities with its black soil greens.
