Played Cooroy this week for the first time. Looks a great course, but with ’tee up through green’I’d suggest players hold off until they get some serious rain in the area.
Can’t wait to play it again once they’ve had a week or two of h2o.

Holiday in Coolum every couple of years and have played most courses on Sunshine Coast. This was my last round this trip and glad I did, very enjoyable even though not long as mentioned by others is a ‘thinking’ course – 13th a great one and be careful of the creek at driving length on the 17th. Worth the drive inland!!

‘Kiwi in the Sun’ played 15th Sept 2008

This course is definitely for the thinking golfer, so those who think golf is all about how far you can slam the ball will not appreciate this course. The fairways on the new holes are greening up nicely and Cooroy has always been noted for its great greens. A challenging course, almost every hole has either water or out-of-bounds to contend with and sometimes both. Cooroy is definitely a ‘must try at least once’ type of course but be warned – it does grow on you! Friendly staff and members complete the picture.

The coarse is now 18 hole with the opening of the new nine over a year ago. There are a couple of long par fives which are challenging. The par three's have a few hazards around them so you have to be pretty acurate. The coarse is very well maintained and the staff and members are very friendly. Well worth playing.

Every par 4 is drivable bar 2 or 3, the difficult par 3 is a 150-60m elevated tee shot to an unprotected green. Will be extended to 18 holes in the not too distant future and may become worth a trip then... but for now... probably not.

I'd heard this was a great little course, and this was confirmed when I made the 10 minute trip from Noosa to play Cooroy. Not a course of great length but certainly a course where accuracy was required at every hole. Though only 9 holes, three holes have alternative teeing areas, giving these holes a totally different complexion. One par 3 in particular (6th) is one of the most demanding I've played in years and commands an accurate shot to hit this green. All greens were immaculate and the locals tell me they're the best on the Sunshine Coast. I don't doubt them. Friendly staff, cheap green fees and a lovely course all made for a very enjoyable day. Well worth the short drive from Noosa.
