This is a great golf course. Myself & a group of 8 played the course in the middle of the draught & were impressed with the condition of the course. The course is challenging for the best of golfer. Our group had golfers with handicaps ranging from 8 to 24 and all enjoyed the course. The locals are friendly and the staff are very helpfull. It is a must to play for those who like a challenge.

nice golf course with some daunting holes(Out of bounds right of the first for example). Reknown for its hard and fast greens. a hilly track but well worth it. has some great par 3’s (my favourite the 5th)

The Cootamundra golf course ofers a variety of chalenges for a variety of different golfers, length can help you around the course but you don't need to be the longest of hitters to do well around this magnificient course. Being a straight hitter can also help. From dogleg par 4's and 5's to long and hill drop par 3's, and just good old straight holes, throw that in there with alot of friendly people the Cootamundra golf course has it all and i sugest you give it a go.

One of the larger towns in the Riverina region with about 5500 people, Cootamundra is known as the birthplace of the famous cricketer Sir Donald Bradman!
Established in 1895, Cootamundra claims to be the oldest golf club in country NSW. Not sure how true that is but it measures 5623m Par 71 with five par 3s ranging from 125-195m, nine par 4s ranging from 272-376m and four par 5s ranging from 461-488m.
Course is fairly open with either prominent gums or medium-sized pine trees lining the fairways. That said, fairways have a thin covering of kikuyu and is equally lush and bare in places. The bent grass greens are smooth, have good speed but are bare and patchy in areas. Teebeds are mostly flat with kikuyu grass.
The course currently has 24 bunkers with only 5 bunkerless greens. There are 2 very large storage dams with not all fairways receiving sprinkler watering.
Highlights include: the 481m 4th (index 8) which doglegs right from 240m off the tee with a left-sloping fairway with thick shrubs vegetation far left & right with 2 bunkers guarding the green shortside, the 140m downhill 5th (index 12) from an elevated tee about 20m above the green is tricky to get club selection right here with 2 bunkers guarding the green short with a steep grassy bank off the rear of the green and the 185m 9th (index 2) with OOB Poole Street on the right with 2 bunkers guarding the green with tallish trees short left.
Holes 12-16 are interesting and varied with some elevated teebeds, left-sloping fairways, thick vegetation and bunkers to avoid on the 315m short uphill 15th (index 13) as well as on the two par 3s. The 17th and 18th are comparatively ordinary holes to finish your round on.
Par 4s are a little weak on length with no long irons into the greens, whereas the par 5s are generally the same length.
The course’s best attributes must be its par 3s. All are bunkered which is great to see and I think the par 3s are the most varied and challenging part of the course.
Played here 14/6/2011 with $28 green fees or if you staying at the motel it is $20 for 18 holes.
Better layout and conditioning than nearby Temora and for Sydney/ACT residents the course is only 40 minutes from the Hume Freeway taking the Jugiong exit.
The golf course is situated approximately 340-380m above sea level so temperatures regularly fall below zero from May-August…
