Absolutely LOVE this course. Signed up as amember 4 days ago and have played everyday since. Great cheap deals and it cost me $150 to sign up(im 14) with everyday/all day access. Very easy to lose a ball if you dont hit straight though and it is very hilly and tiring course.

Played here recently, and was delighted to find a serious challenging course in good condition. Not much to say really, it was all good – green fairways, good greens, friendly people.

Others have commented on the clubhouse, and it is a bit faded, but it provides very reasonably priced meals.

One word of caution though – this course is not for the unfit. It is very hilly, and physically wiped me out. We had a couple of locals play through who were riding a cart, they reckoned its the only way to fly at Devilbend. At the time of writing, the club has some really great membership offers available.

PROS

  • Good condition, challenging, a fair dinkum course.

Cons

  • Not for the unfit.

This course feels like its in the middle of no where, and takes just as long to get there.

But its a good country course within the melbourne limits.

Some fantastic snadbelt like holes with great variation in elavation.

Fairways and greens were all in good condition ad so was the rough.

The course is long and takes it out of you, felt it in my calfs for the next two days.

Club house is a little old but beer was at a good price and the staff were all very friendly.

having not ventured to hills of Devilbend for near on 3 years i had heard on the grapevine that there had been substantial changes there. Both on and off the course. On arrival i found the entrance had been spruced up and the a modern and aswell as the well stocked Profesional shop. After paying the very reasonable fee i ventured down the first hole where i was pleasently surpried to see all the works of the previous years had flourished into beutiful Santa Anna couch. The greens well paced and smooth as any cpourse in the famed southern peninsula. At Half way we were greeeted with a warm smile and a hot pie and cold drinkwas my selection from the broad range of sandwiches and hot food in the Professinal shop. I found the back nine to be even better than the front( Mainly because there was less water to hit into). At the completion of the game I suprised to see the club house opoen and a new and inviting bistro menu had been introduced. I believe the changes and the hard work the committe and staff has paid off and Devilbend has become one of the best value for money course's in Victoria.

I recently ventured down to the Mornington Peninsula in search of a good game of golf and found myself and 2 of my golfing partners arriving at The Devilbend Golf Club which is only a km off the Moorooduc Highway. The superintendant should be given a huge slap on the back as the condition of this course is amazing. The greens are magnificent and the fairways are the equivelant to anything on the Peninsula and I'm including Moonah Links and The National (Where i was a former Member). I feel I shouldn't be writing this review as it may encourage a lot more people to play there and I'd like to keep it to myself but I feel this place needs to be discovered by other golfing purists like myself. While the clubhouse may not be the Taj Mahal you'll find the atmosphere warm and beer cold. I urge anyone who doesn't want to battle a thousand other Golfers on the Peninsula to Give Devilbend a try you won't be disappointed.

It would appear as though a lot of development work has been done here and it just needs another growing season or two to mature. When this happens it will be a very good course.

Certainly enjoyed the round, good layout and some real surprise greens that will really test the flat stick.

Again all it needs is a bit more time, if you can't wait until then it won't dissapoint.

Course suffered a little from recent rains but as it is sand based and hilly there was no surface water. Some interesting holes and reasonably long holes for medium/high handicappers. Was quick to play. Clubhouse is good value. don't know about the index though, easy 3 points on some holes and near impossible to score points on others. A few water hazards but shouldn't be in play for most reasonable standard golfers. Bunkers need a bit more sand (or at least they should be raked). 27.50 on a Sunday is a little steep but you can recoup that in the clubhouse which has teriffically priced snacks and beers.
