This course boasts a reasonable array of different types of holes over a hilly landscape. The tee boxes were ordinary and the fairways were very lush, a couple of times we had to look for our golf balls in the fairway grass. The greens were ok, bent grass with a few weeds and bare areas here and there but were of a standard you would expect at a low maintenance Country Course. The scenery was nice, particularly over the 9th green into the valley. If your going to play at Dorrigo, take your Aeroguard and plenty of drinking water as there aren’t any drinking fountains out on the course. 9 holes was $10 and 18 holes is around $16 into the honesty box.

A good country course, but if you are looking for a course with consistancy in the greens, fairways (even the rough) and tees in the Coffs Harbour Region look no further than Bonville International Golf Resort. Dont get me wrong Dorrigo has some great views of the hinterland and what not but its nO more than a 2 star course. If you are in the North Coast region be sure to check out Bonville International for at least 9 holes as it will blow you away!

Set on ahillside only 2mins from town, once you arrive you know that you have arrived at a hidden gem. Its a magnificent picturesq course that offers a suprising test with many challenging holes. The first starts off as a downhill short par 4 that has two small lakes guarding the front right of the green and the Bielsdown river behind it. The fifth hole is my favourite with a wide open generous fairway with the bielsdown river sneaking down the left hand side and wrapping itself around behind the green. the fairway becomes bottlenecked near the green and tricky crosswinds make the approach difficult. There are some short par 4’s and some long ones over 400m. And a monster 230 par 3 to boot. A difficult gully carry on the monster 412m par 4 8th and a difficult uphill finishing hole. The course has superb greens and is maintained by only one greenkeeper who does an excellent job. The greens are the best I’ve played on(including bonville international) and have plenty of spin and hold really well. This is a hidden gem that shoudn’t be overlooked. A magnificent course for breathtaking views and testing golf. And after a lunch or dinner at the local pub its a great way to spend a day

Had the pleasure of returning to this course after 25 years (having the platypus we saw in the river often in my mind and sometimes in conversations). The course is a gem and is surrounded by a river. It is in excellent condition with great greens, challenging holes and really friendly people. Great fairways as well. Never ended up with a bad lie through the entire round.
Can’t be underestimated as others have indicated, and also enjoyed the wide and varied trees and shrubs around the course. A bit different due to the height of the tablelands.
Green fees are through an honesty box during the week.
Need to take your own gear, water and food during the week as there is no pro-shop.
