The course was in very good condition and the greens quick and true. A very hot day and we could have done with a drinks cart although we were able to go to the pro shop after 9 holes.
Good layout and some testing holes

It was a most unfortunate day as we got washed out, simply a great way to spend $220 .
The course people were absolutely fantastic and gave us extra time to wait for the rain to clear, they were at all times warm and friendly and truly it helped a miserable morning pass as pleasantly as possible.

Hi "watt". I am a member at Cool Tweed and myself get frustrated at some of the "dress" that they allow (and don’t allow) but it is a Club after all. If you read the course description above it is very clear that there are dress regulations.
Glad you thought it was a nice course as I think it is about the best on the coast and in the best shape I have seen it for this time of year.

4. Watt | Rated | 12 Jan 2013 | Add A Review

nice course but when I arrived they told me they weren’t receiving bookings from iseek and so had to manually add me to what was a very busy morning, meant we had to wait at most holes. Then they made me buy a pair of white socks before they’d let me play, while apparently they don’t care about shirts being tucked in make sure you have your socks on otherwise they’ll relieve you of cash to buy some.

Great Conditioning. Ok layout. Staff is 0.5/5. Members arent very inviting having played there twice as a reciprocal. River course is the real option here, i give that a 3/5. S45 for comp is steep for west course but OK for river course.

The course setting is interesting. But after the weeks of rain, the mosquitos are outrageous. I’d booked the tee time on different coures a few times with iseekgolf. This time I have a problem with them and want to share with other players. I made my booking of 3 players on 30/1/2012, the teetime was 7:45am on the 6/2/2012. One of my friends told me he can’t play on that day a few days later. So I rang ’iseekgolf’ and made a cancellation of one player 3-4 days before the teetime. The staff told me that’s no problem but there was a $10 cancellation fee. I relpied that is fine. Then 8 days after I had played in Coolangtta and Tweed GC, I found out that I still hadn’t received the refund. So I ring "iseekgolf’ again and asked what had happened. They told me they couldn’t find any record of my cancellation. And advised me if I needed to cancel next time, it’s better to email them. Cancellation can be made by email or phone are the options they provided for us. I think it is very unfair because the staff of ’iseekgolf’ make a mistake and me ’the customer’ have to pay the penalty.

Great day. The course is in good condition. Greens were fairly fast. There are a few testy holes and with a strong breeze it made it even more interesting when the ball was above the trees. Highly recommend it.

We played the River Course, it is not very long but the bunkers and doglegs make it deceptively more difficult than its yardage would suggest. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition but if you went off the fairways the trees and low hanging branches made recovery difficult. While there was a lot of water around the course it didn’t seem to come into play as much as you would think and only added extra visual appeal to an already picturesque layout.

Played on a Sunday afternoon around 12.30pm and it felt like I had the course to myself, there were very few players around at that time. Had a good run and the course was in good condition although the greens were a bit variable. Only downside was that no carts were available when I arrived and I had to wait for one to come in so hit off about 15 mins late. Very good value at $55 and the free drink after the round was very much appreciated. I am looking forward to laying the other 18 holes at C-T very soon.

After a lot of heavy rain the course was in magnificent condition, probably the best conditioned course around south east Queensland and surrounds save maybe only for the extremely expensive resort courses. The play was a little slow, there was a marshall but they didn’t seem to hurry anyone along, even the group two in front of us that lost a fairway. This course has always been a sentimental favourite of mine, and it will stay that way after my round there this week. It’s not long, but there are so many holes you have to be so careful off the tee, I’m almost certain I used every club in my bag – always a good sign I think.

Played on our yearly trip to the Gold coast and despite the greens just being renovated (which we were informed of when we booked over 6 months ago….pretty good I thought) found the course to be even better than it has been in the past. There was an incredible amount of play but the tees and fairways were in perfect condition. Renovated greens were a pain but we had a great day out despite that and a good win on the TAB after golf drinking cold beer!!

very disappointed. We booked through I seek Golf (which has been excellant to me in the past), I also rang the club to confirm if the booked time was aest or adst, at no time were we advised that the greens on the river course had just been renovated. When we signed in at the pro shop we were referred to as "just social" players, still no mention of the poor state of the greens. It wasn’t until we reached the first green that we discovered how rough and horrible the greens were. I will certainly be checking in future as this occassion was a waste of money

Found to be a challenging course. Mixture of par 3,4, & 5’s good.
Good mix of holes with doglegs left and right. Meaning, that long straight drives are not the shot choice for all driver holes. Some you need to use a 3 wood to tee off.

Good condition, great price. Very slow going took 5 hours to complete a round. Must use a cart as there is 2 holes were there is 400m between the last green and the next tee.
Lots of dog legs not many driving holes if you are a decent hitter.
Greens were in great condition and ran very true.

Played the River Course mid January and it was in mint condition. Beautiful lush fairways hitting into very large well protected greens. Not a course where you will use your driver much unless you like going for the hero shot over tree lined doglegs. Not a long course but multiple dog leg par 4’s meaning you get to use a variety of different clubs off the tee. All par 5’s under 490m giving the big hitters plenty of opportunity to score. Along with Gold Coast Burleigh this has to be one of the best value courses around the area at $25 walking

Played on the River Course on Sunday for social play. Course was in great condition as it always is all ear round. Both the River and West course keep you true to your handicap but if you play well around the greens you can score well. Fairways are always in top condition and cut a little longer than most courses – leaving you always a nice lye.

Over the years, after playing on many courses on the Gold Coast and being a member of another Gold Coast course i have decided to join the club as a full member. Rates both socially and as a member are competively priced with the guys in the Proshop always friendly.

Practice greens, fairways and nets are great for warming up and greens have the same grass as the River course.

A good variety of short and long holes to challenge all.

I played the west course a few weeks back and was really impressed. Then was amazed at the river course, the greens are great, the bunkers are really challenging and most of all, the scenery is great.

The only drawback was the guy in the office was quite pushy on my tee time, although I was already 25 minutes early he paired me up with another group, and then told me I wasn’t allowed on the course with the colour socks that I was wearing (they were black but really low and couldn’t be seen, matching my shoes). His reason was "I’m sure you have read on iseekgolf that we have a strict rule on white socks."
In the end I bought a pair of socks from the pro shop.

The couple that I was paired up with were great players (they hit par and birdies on most holes.) and they helped me immensely with my swing.

Played there on Monday 1/6/2009. Booked for 1218. Had no hassle with starting time. Course wasn’t too crowded I guess coz it was a Monday. Wide fairways and very forgiving. Not too many balls lost. A lot of fun with nice scenery of the tweed river. I don’t know how it’s like on the weekend but I will definately recommend it for weekdays. Well manicured fairways and greens. Very good course for the price. Definately coming back

Measures Par 72 5946m, with four Par 3s ranging from 130-180m, ten Par 4s ranging from 290-400m and four Par 5s ranging from 460-495m. Played here for the first time 23rd March 2009, and enjoyed the course layout.

The course begins with a gentle par 5 dogleg right with water crossing 30 metres from the front of the green which is guarded by 3 bunkers. Long walk to the short dogleg left 2nd. The river course is said is to be the more challenging of the two courses. It has 7-8 dogleg holes, thick tree-lined fairways on some holes and a 3 level clubhouse. A great golfing alternative to the higher priced gold coast resort style courses around. Course is 5 minutes from Gold Coast Airport too.

Will never book here again. Arrived for my tee time and was told that the tee times were 90 minutes behind time. Then told as I was a ‘one’ I would just have to stand at the tee and try to get in with another group. Then was told what did I expect if I booked with iseek. Attitude was if this is normal at this course and what was I complaining about. All my other experiences with iseek booking have been fantastic it’s obvious that this course is not up to the professionalism of others listed on iseek and should be avoided at all cost.

Nice course. Greens, Fairways, Tees and Bunkers were all in very good condition when I played it.

Course is not overly long but position and keeping the ball in play is paramount with a number of tight driving holes. Have a poor day off the tee and your score will soon mount up. Keep the ball in play and you will probably score well.

Only aspect that I didn’t like about the course was the fact that it had in my view too many doglegs. It seemed as though just about every par 4 or 5 was a dogleg.

This is a really nice course. Good variety of holes, and some sharp dog legs to contend with. It was in excellent condition tee to green and well bunkered throughout. You will need to hit accurately off the tees as there is a number of very tight tree lined holes. Pack a driving wood if you’ve got one or get ready to hit long irons of the tee for positional play. Was around 40 bucks to play in the Saturday Comp.

was on holidays and played several courses in the area. This is the best course you will ever play for the price. There are 36 holes, a river course and the west course. Around $40 to play either of the two championship layouts. The courses are heavily bunkered and have several water hazards. this is a challenging course overall and it will definetly be unforgiving if you are struggling in any areas of your game. A well kept course that is a must to play

Was on the gold coast for a weeks golf last week and played the West course on Tuesday and had such a good cheap time came back for the river course on Thursday!! Forget the resorts.. this place was in as good a condition as Lakelands, Glades and Hope Island which were the other courses we played. About $50 bucks a head with a cart is a steal and the bent greens on the west course are as good as any you will play. The fairways were great on both courses and the greens challenging on the river course which were couch opposed to bent on the other course. Members here have it made...sign me up Scottie!!

Daunting,interesting,confusing.

Turned up on spec on a Saturday. Managed to jag a comp round with some 450 regulars. Nervous as hell but Perry put me at ease. Thanks mate. Had a pretty ordinary score but this is one good golf course. Doglegs, bunkers, great fairways, tough greens.

No way I could play to my bush course handicap here without a lot of practise. Now isn't that a pleasant thought!

Add a top clubhouse and not too pricey.

She'll do me.

The west course sits easily between your 'normal' club course and a full on resort course. Comp every day.Usually packed. The fairways are great, the greens challenging and if you aren't used to bunkers get some practise , they certainly wrecked my score.

Can't fault it except maybe a bit busy for a country hacker.

Plus there's a great club house and restaurant complex. I'm coming back to play the river course.

The Relic played 11/02/05

Played in the Wednesday open comp on the River course which has among the best fairways on the Gold Coast - thick, even couch that makes hitting long irons easy.

The West course (played in the afternoon) manages to present quite differently notwithstanding being on the same plot as the River course. Just as good in condition.

With greens only a notch perhaps behind some of the lauded resort courses, THGC is possibly the best value on the Gold Coast.

Really enjoyed my day here. I'm a member at a reciprocal club and I thought it was a great bargain to be able to play here for free.

The course is not too far below the standard of many of the resort courses on the Gold Coast but the prices are definately a lot more reasonable. There seemed to be a perfect mix of length, style and green type to make this a really interesting golf day.

I'd have another go anytime.

Played there in Sept school holidays on the "public" course which is slightly easier. Friendly staff and pro shop and impressive new clubhouse. The course was nearly deserted with a free driving range (bring your opwn balls). Reasonably flat with some water in play on some holes. Quite long with wide sheltered fairways, not much rough. Course in very good condition. A very enjoyable course at $33 much less than the resort courses nearby. The "members" course adjacent is more difficult.

I would recommend this course for anyone to play.
