Exeter GC is a Par 71 (35-36) nine-hole course with ACR 68.5. It has a second set of tees but they don't differ greatly from the first set so not much variation. $15 green fees in the honesty box (or the bar when it's open) on any day of the week, which is at the upper end of cost for comparitive courses throughout the state.
The course is off the main road through town (West Tamar Hwy) about 100m south of the bakery - easy to find. Exeter itself is in the Tamar Valley about 30 min drive north of Launceston. It's a standard country course with plenty of large eucalypts and some other stands of trees. Usually only the one line of trees separate adjacent fairways. A couple of dams, dog-leg holes and a few bunkers add difficulty.
Greens, fairways and tees all watered so in good condition, which is the exception given the current low rainfall conditions. Greens were mostly fine, but pretty slow, and had small mushrooms trying to germinate on them.
Worth getting out of the car for a hit if you're doing more than just passing through Exeter.
