Agree with below review this is a fantastic course very few people talk about. Whilst it lacks the pomp and pretence of its neighbouring tracks this is golf as its meant to be played …. IMHO ! Do yourself a favour and book a game as soon as you can.

the BEST KEPT secret down there, play this course ASAP. Not overly long but still a good test of golf. 4th “coffin hole” a good tester

i used to frequent this course quite often as i worked next door to it. the course is in good condition all year round with a good tough layout and even tougher with a southerly wind in the winter time ripping across the course straight of bass strait. there is only two slight hills to tackle making the course easy walking. greens are always in good condition

Golf course is in good nick save for some minor repairs. However the pub motel was disappointing. You should not pay 115 bucks for a room and get no hot water. Every room had the problem. Stay at the motel across the road.

My brother had arranged a round of golf and pre lesson with the resident coach as a birthday present- I enjoyed the lesson and the enthusiastic coach patiently eased me out of one or two bad habits accrued over the years. The round was excellent, the course being well maintained - I recommend this course to anyone. Definately one of the most scenic in the area.

The day started off with disaster with a accidental coffee spill staining my shorts and shirt. Heading into the Pro shop I was delighted to see that it was both well stocked and reasonably priced and was delighted at the level of service I was bathed in -My first time at Flinders I found the course in great condition, and my game on song. I will be back !

On a calm day with blue skys, this can be an enjoyable round with an even more score. However should the wind blow and the weather move in you could be in for a long day !
With that said there are not too long difficult holes, should the wind blow. (barring 6&7).

An update to my report below after a recent game there. The course is in sensational condition, possibly the fastest, truest greens available to the public anywhere making tough pin placements even more challenging. The rain on the day did little to slow them down.
The course continues to evolve with the 18th being a lefties paradise and now the 16th being tightened-up with bunkering down the right side. The fairways were good and great views as a bonus. Make the trip, it won't dissapoint.

Except for the first hole I like everything about it, an honest track that is a great change from the brutal alternatives. Some times it begs you to open the shoulders, other holes it is accuracy you want and failing to observe the warning signs will see you being well bitten. Did suffer grass coverage problems a while ago but now well recovered. Bunkers can be a bit thin on sand sometimes because of the wind, especially on Siberia. Interesting history too with it's original designer (ex Club Champ from RM) calling in MacKenzie who personally visited and also made some changes. I think he was also responsible for the Coffin Hole.

Flinders golf course is a little gem of a course. A links style course without the all the fuss and trimmings and using the natural beauty of the sourrounding landscape. Beautiful ocean views - glad not to be there when the the wind was blowing though! Course in good condition, challenging without being too daunting for the average handicapper. All holes are individually named - "the Coffin" is almot as formidable as it's name! A golf course well worth the visit.

Not the best way to start & finish a round of golf with the fairways on 1, 2 & 18 being under construction. To make matters worse there was a Nazi course marshal who insisted that my playing group of four keep up with the group of two in front of us. On five occasions we were told to hurry up. After virtually running two holes to get him off our backs, he drove up to us again on a short par 3 and hindered on new found pace by giving my group a five minute lesson on bunker play. Even though I was yet to play my bunker shot. Thanks for the tips Scotty but it was not necessary. Holes 3 to 17 were above average with superb panoramic views of the ocean, the greens were in good condition. Some of the tees were in bad condition. Certainly not a top 50 course.

I can't believe this course hasn't been reviewed. A beautiful course at the end of the peninsula with views of Bass strait and the beach. Each hole is different including the dreaded coffin hole. Benign when the wind is down it becomes a monster if a strong southerly arrives. In top order and a great place for social clubs. Not overly long but can punish stray tee shots unmercifully. I will keep coming back here. Not far from the village so those whose partners don't play can spend hours in the cafes and curio shops while you sip a cold one in the clubhouse or pub.
