Fox Hills golf course is a fairly short,tight course situated only 35 minutes from the centre of Sydney. The new dams that have been constructed on the course come into play mostly on the 9th and 11th however it also sneaks into play on the right hand side of the 1st.

The most interesting holes on the course include the 6th – 97m par 3 downhill with an elevated tee, the 9th – 480m par 5 with water off the tee to the left and right and the 10th – 137m par 3 downhill with water all down right side.

The signature hole is the 11th. At only 375m long, its not the length that’s the problem, the issue is the water left and right off the tee and the extremely tight opening to the green with water short of the green and to the left. Low handicappers struggle to par this hole

Fox Hills Golf course is a great course in the west of Sydney, in excellent condition and maintained very well. The course is of medium length, ome challenging holes, in particular the par 4 11th, 385m, the par 3 12th a 205m par 3 and the par 4 18th, at 400m can really put a dent in you score. Fairways are green, lush and soft, there are no preferred lies as the course is in such good condiion

At fox Hills, it is common to have lengthy rounds, play is quite slow and you may have to wait on the first tee for a while. Tees and greens have been maintained to a high standard, greens are true and tees are in great condition.

The Pro shop is well stocked with Cobra, Titleist, Cleveland, Srixon and TaylorMade clubs, balls and apparel.

Green fees aren’t overly expensive ( $19 for a visitor in the comp.) and is worth the money. There are quality practice facilities, a large putting green and chipping green with bunkering included.
Social groups and the public can get on at Fox Hills, definitely worth a try if you live in Western Sydney.

Haven’t played Fox Hills since 2008, and it has improved again since then. New dams and mounds on the 11th, 9th, and 1st holes! Course in really good nick, probably some of the best fairways I have ever played on and I am amember of Liverpool and I think ours are excellent! Greens in great condition inspite of all the heat, good definition between fairways and rough, good grass coverage on tees. Bloody busy course though and a very slow round!

course has improved 100% recently,green keepers have been changed,thank god.2 big dams have been put in and some holes reshaped green are rolling out nicely.the course will be tip top once the mounds have grass cover(october)

Played here today – $19 after 4pm and the course way 100% better than when I played it a few months back. Tees, fairways and greens all in good shape. Great value for $19.

For the traffic they get the greens were pretty good. I’ll be back next week.

when i played here a few years back for pennants the course was awsome, played there a few weeks ago in a saturday comp and it was F*&KING TERRIBLE, the greens were slower then my carpet at home, puddles of water everywhere, i dont know wat kind of greenstaff they have got there but i think they are all apprentices or just incompentent qualified staff

I played here on 24th Aug 09 and was very disappointed with the maintennance of the course. I have played here numerous times previously, albeit not for a couple of years and the course was always well presented.

However yesterday it was basically up the creek. I think there were 3 greens that were of good quality. The rest had strange patches of weed growing in them, many old unrepaired pitch marks and on a whole they were generally very poor.

I won’t be going back to Fox Hills anytime soon.

Not a bad track, could do with a little more work on the low lying fairways at the back end/flat part of the course. Par 4’s are tight and require some thought off the tee most times. The new 10th is a good hole that requires the right club to be used as long or short will leave you with a tough chip. Greens were quick to average with tough pins. Low light of the day was the slow play by a corporate group in the middle of the comp field. 10 minute plus wait on most tees.

This course gets better and better, the greens are great, the fairways are great, the tees are great, even the trees in the rough are neetly prunned. This course has never looked better. The new 10th hole looks great, however they can fill in the lake, it has about 10 of my balls. Well done to the Club Captain and the Greenkeeper for the condition of your course, it was a pleasure to paly there, i will definetly play at Fox Hills again soon.

I love this course. Although it is not a long course it is a course that you can score well on if you can keep your ball in play. The fairways are well maintained and green in good condition considering the amount of traffic that this public course can get.

The greens are well paced and a few well placed bunkers protect smaller greens. This course does make you think your way around for a good score. You can certainly attacked the greens and know that the ball will hold. The course has a creek that runs through the middle of it wich is certainly well placed making you think about your driving options. You can get away with spraying your tee shots if they are wide enough. The trees on this course are not too tall that you cannot hit over them from the next fairway.

The course has a good variety of holes, with some long par three’s where long hitters are hitting long irons in to the shotest par 3 wher they are hitting SWedges. The par 5’s are reachable for two but protected by both water and bunkers. You have to play well here to score well.

The clubhouse is excellent and comfortable. The practice facilities are excellent – especially the practice greens.

Not an overly long or challenging course at 5518m Par 69. Longest hole is 480m 9th slight dogleg to the right with bunker on right, and small dam short left of green. The shortest hole 97m 6th has a large green to land on, and plays the easiest hole on course.

Few and far between are some challenges, but overall, not my type of course. Strange layout when you cross the 9th tee twice and the 3 par 3s section of the course, is seen a little often during the round. To cap it off, you have to walk back down the tree line of the 15th to reach the 16th tee - avoiding stray golf balls.

Holes 9, 17 and 18 and probably my favourites here, all have length and demand accurate approaches to the green, unlike many other holes here.

Played here 10/1/07 and paid $24 green fees. Reasonable, but course doesnt quite do it for me.

Narrow, straight, short and very up and down. Course was well kept but a bit to much goat-track-ish for my liking. Is in essence, a longer but better kept version of Bardwell Valley in terms of the up and downs. And a very curious OOB ruling on the 15th.

Although a relatively easy layout this is a pretty challenging course. The fairways and greens are superb. Not very long though but the fairways are narrow.
If you can keep the ball in play you should be able to shoot a decent score.

We played here on the weekend of August 28 with our social club. It is another course where we play at least twice a year. The course itself is reasonably flat, so it is nice and easy to walk. As it is a par 69, there are only two par 5's (1st and 9th).

The par 3's are a decent length - except the 6th at 97m.

The par 4's are all a good length at 300m-365m.

The two par 5's are different. The 1st is almost reachable in 2, where as the 9th is a typical 3 hit par 5 to reach the green.

My favourite holes are the 5th and 17th.

The 5th is a par 4 with OOB right and a creek (albeit dry) running across the fairway just short of the green. The green is small in size and is guarded by bunkers right and left.

The 17th is a shortish, downhill par 4 which slopes left to right. You really only need a 3 wood then wedge here. There are bunkers right and short of the green as well as water left and behind the green.

All in all, this is a nice course to play at any time. They must be doing something right because the club always features prominently in the Major Pennants competition. State calibre players aren't attracted to any type of course and club.

An reasonably enjoyable course to play...fairly straightforward with no real surprises. Like everyone else has said the fairways are mostly quite narrow with only a couple of them able to forgive a wayward shot.

For me, the best hole of the course by far is the 17th - a reasonably easy par 4, teeing off downhill towards a heavily bunkered green situated right in front of a lake - very picturesque indeed - you'll actually be thankful the bunkers are there if you over-hit your approach shot.

Worth a visit, defintely, for relative beginners and high handicappers but I don't imagine Fox Hills would really hold much continuing interest for more experienced players.

They say you get what you pay for, but you can get up-and-down fairways for much less than this.

I got the impression that the club thinks it's a good course, even though the crammed fairways have you thinking more about loose balls from other fairways than your next shot.

Straighforward, unchallenging, and unimaginative.

When I was looking to join a club in the area in 2001 Fox Hills seemed the best value for money.

The course can be very demanding if you're off the fairway, but keep it straight and you will have an enjoyable game. Sure, there are some short holes, but they can be treacherous because of the tight fairways and the hazards around the greens. Pin placements often increase the difficulty level for those with lower handicaps, so there is generally good playability for golfers of all levels.

The greens are kept a bit on the long side compared to other courses, and are sometimes not in the greatest condition. Similarly, the bunkers are inconsistant from one hole to the next - sometimes soft and fluffy sand, sometimes hard packed and difficult. Lots of water hazards to gobble up your ball.

Unfortunately the promised re-design of the course has never been implemented and any potential members should not believe that they will happen anytime in the near future. On the up-side, the course has not been affected too much by the drought because of an abundant water supply, and is greener than most courses around Sydney.

Your overall golfing satisfaction will depend greatly on how well you are hitting the ball on the day.

A well kept course with medium paced greens.

Skinny fairways on most holes.

Par 3's are quite easy to par or even birdie with only hitting mid to high irons on most. One only being 97 metres downhill.

Par 4's are very skinny fairways and need a straight drive to keep it on the fairway. Only a line of trees between most of the par 4's which can get you into some troblue. Most are in the mid 300m.

Par 5's are only the 1st and 9th both little dog legs, both are under 500m but you need 2 great shots to reach the greens(very hard to reach them).

All up a great course with some easy and some hard holes. A bit of water sacttered over the course and bunkers and neally every hole.

Extremely tight little course where you won't need the driver much. Not much more than a single line of trees between most holes, which can get a little dangerous at times.

The greens are small & quite slow & furry.
