Glen Innes Golf Club

IN: COURSE DIRECTORY | REGION: New England, NSW | USER RATING: (3.0) | Add A Review

Situated in the New England region of New South Wales, Australia, the Club is located 1062m high in the Tablelands and, unlike much of the rest of Australia, has distinctive seasons: golden autumns, air-conditioned summers, breathtaking springs, log-fire winters – even, occasionally, snow.

Our beautiful 18-hole course provides a truly vintage golfing experience, perfect for both novice and low handicap players alike. If you are an early bird, you might even enjoy the feeling of playing on your own private course, with only the resident wallabies for company.

The old clubhouse was destroyed by fire some years ago and a new brick building was constructed. The complex includes a pro shop, large function room with a bar and a members lounge, also with a bar. If staying in the Glen Innes area, please come and see us, as a guest, visitor or perhaps just a social visit.

Glen Innes measures 5752m Par 71 from the back tees with 9 Par 4s, 4 Par 5s and 5 Par 3s. Par 5s are around 460-550m and Par 3s range from 120-195m. A good test of straight driving. Course was in good condition, with greens well watered and playing true and fairways green to lush. Not overly challenging with a basic up-and-back layout. Small greens with not many bunkers protecting the greens. In fact, only 4 bunkers I counted, and 3 of them were protecting the 9th green. Not many other hazards around with water playing a part on the 12th hole, other than that I can not remember seeing other lakes/creeks/dams.

Played on 21/11/05 and paid $20 green fees for a weekday and it is costs the same for weekends too. Play here or Tenterfield if you are in the far north of the New England region. Located on a farm paddock say 5km north of town.
