This is a nine hole course with two sets of tees, however they are not very different the second time around with most being on the same tee block.

It is quite a short course for Men and an interesting layout. There are no separate tee blocks for women so it is the same length as for Men, which is a little unfair.

It is tight and any errant shots will probably cost you a golf ball. There is also enough water in play to keep you alert and the 9th has water across the fairway about 70 metres from the green.

The fairways were quite dry and parched and the greens had been recently cored, so were a bit bumpy and slow.

It is an easy course to walk, we played nine holes in less than 1 1/2 hours.

The green fees of $20 for nine holes or $30 for 18 are expensive for what you get, but there are no other courses in the area.

Played this course on the weekend. Card shows it as a par 68. One of the reasons I was keen to play was their website talks up the quality of the greens. Having travelled over an hour to get there, it was a bit disappointing to find the greens had been recently cored (a phone call could have solved that!).

The trees on the edges of most of the fairways make short work of any stray shots. Fairways themselves were well kept. Some picturesque holes make it an enjoyable round.

A couple of the par 4s are on the short side even for the average player, but generally it is a good mix of distance and layout utilising the features of the ground.

I’ll certainly be going back for another round when the greens are in better condition.

If you are in this part of the world, it is certainly worth the time (and the slightly expensive green fees) to play a round

PROS

  • Pleaseant course
  • Relaxed Feel
  • Very friendly staff
  • Can always get a game

Cons

  • Green condition (recently cored)

I have only played this course once, and what a great little challenge it is. Most of the fairways are lined by trees down each side of the fairways, so proved to be a great challenge.

Unfortunately it is only 9 holes long but does have alternate tee-off areas for each hole. I also found that it is quite pricey to play here too, but it was worth it.

PROS

  • Great challenge for golfers of all levels

Cons

  • Only 9 holes
  • Is a bit pricey

A great little course, wish I could play there more often..

PROS

  • Excellent presentation
  • Friendly staff
  • More challenging than it looks
  • Town of 1770 Golf Club STUBBY HOLDER!!

Cons

  • $20 for 9 holes sounded a tad expensive, but well worth it (suggest playing 18)
  • after playing here, many other courses will look a bit shabby..

This course was in meticilous condition when I played it in Mid March 2007.

Did not realise that Agnes Water/Town of 1770 had a golf course.

Beautifully laid out and a joy to play.

Don’t take too much notice of the CCR – it is easy enough to get into trouble.

Clubhouse facilities are good and I would recommend this course to anyone interested in golf who mayu be visiting the area.
