The banks of the Yarra River, which winds its way around Green Acres, provides a picturesque backdrop to this challenging members layout. The tall stands of native trees, the natural billabongs and abundant birdlife make it a little difficult to believe it is only 15 minutes from the CBD.

Played this course last Monday (Jan 06). Course is in fabulous condition with beautiful greens and fairways. Very peaceful particularly on the holes adjacent to the Yarra.
However if you are looking for a tough golf challenge, this may not be the place. Fairways are overly generous most of the time, and the rough is not much of a penalty. Although there is a moderate amount of water, it would require truly bad shots to end up in it.
Looking around the average age of its members around 65+ - get stuck behind a raft of these and you can be promised a slow round. Ours was pretty good however given the light player traffic on the day.
Club house was friendly but outdated. Shame it doesn't have better views from the Spike Bar.
Enjoyed the day but would sooner play somewhere like 13th Beach or the Growling Frog, even Heidelberg for a more satisfying golf challenge. However if you're in the mood for a cruisy game and would appreciate the forgiveness of the layout then you may have a great time. A good course to take your lovely wife along to.

Several yeasr ago the course was somewhat negelected and malinged, a poor reletive to neighbours Latrobe and Kew. In recent years extensive work has into the course and the results are stunning. Boring and unchallenging holes have been spruced up through fairway bunkers and green reconstructions. The new tee additons as well as the amount of detail into course surrounds have made this course a beauty of the Yarra. A tough accurate layout where both irons and drives need to be spot-on. Currently in wonderful condition and now a serious rival to overthrow Kew's local crown.

Agree with certain aspects from each of the previous reviews.
This is a very pleasant Yarra course that has been significantly improved over the past few years.
This is a gentle, peaceful, relaxing setting to play golf but certainly not in the same category as the neighbour Kew in terms of a challenge.
