Outstanding country golf at it’s best! From the 400m par 4 second to the 266m par 3 fourth this was a challenging layout. It was the first time I’ve played sand greens in ten years and what an enjoyable experience! Once you think you’ve figured out the bump and run shot on the relatively flat front nine, the back takes you up hills and slopes, around corners and over rocky outlays to secure a tidy score. The fairways were lush and green and the par fours long enough to ensure safety from too many birdie putts. I finished with a far greater respect for the simple round oil slicks than I started and chomping at the bit to experience more sand green golf, especially at this standard!
