Lovely country track well presented with a good mix of holes.

Some of the fairways are really tight drives. The greens were a good pace and rolled nice and true. With a few more bunkers, water in all the water hazards and deeper rough this would be an extremely challenging course.

The club runs on mostly volunteer labour and the hospitality was very friendly. Vistors are welcome to hit play in the Thursday and Saturday comps for comp fee only.

I have only played this course once and when i did it was in very good condition. the greens a very quick and they also hold. The club has very nice people in it witch is what a country course needs.

Thanks to some recycled water projects in the Heathcote region this course manages to stay beautifully green when those areound it are in terrible shape. If you live in the Bendigo region i advise you to take the 30 mins to travel down the road to Heathcote as you will find it a much more worthwhile experience.

The golf course at Heathcote is a fine par 71 tree lined course probably best known for it's double green which takes in the par 4 11th and the par 3 18th. Heathcote has a good collection of five par 3 holes that run in different directions to each other and they range in distance from the short 130m 8th to the long 185m 2nd. The short par 4 6th hole is a great risk - reward hole where the longer hitters can reach the green providing they hit a left to right tee shot but any shots off line are likely to find the water that lurks both left and right of the fairway. Lay up with an iron and you have a relatively simple short iron into the smallish green. The toughest hole at Heathcote is the longish par 4 11th where your 2nd shot, which is uphill, needs to be threaded between two huge gums approx. 50m short of the green. Make it to the putting surface safely and there is still a chance of a 3 putt on the huge double green. The greens are pure and quick all year round which helps make this course a stern test of golf.
