i was a member here when i lived in hervey bay.nice course but suffers from money problems.there seems to be too many bar and office staff and the main interest seems to be the clubhouse and not the golf course or golfers

Great Course – you need to be good in the bunkers theres plenty of them!

A good course comparable to most in Brisbane. Course was in very good condition when I played here a couple of weeks ago and it wasn’t overly busy. The guy in the pro-shop was a little less than interested however but apart from that not a bad day at all. Well worth a game if you’re in the area.

A good course that has been kept in great condition through the dry spell. The usual green fees are quite steep but the savings thanks to iseekgolf makes it worthwhile of actually playing a little more often.

We were not overly impressed with the course unfortunately. The golf shop staff member was really vague and disinterested. Our buggies were very dirty with old bottles, wrappers etc. The course itself was lovely to play IF it was signposted – we had a few problems navigating our way around as there were no arrows and the golf cards had no maps. The drinks cart had beer and water only ….which was very sad on a Saturday afternoon!

As said prior by other members, quite a busy coarse. We tee’d off at 2:00 and had to stop and wait on several occasions as well as being waited upon. But upon completion of the front 9, taking a short drinks break and moving onto the back 9 about 3-330 there was no-one behind us.

A very flat coarse, with wide fairways and a variation of tree density. Some holes you will suffer severly if you stray off the fairway, others you’ll almost be better off playing from the trees.

Was expecting the worst when playing the 1st and realising if you over shoot the green by a matter of meters you will end up on another green.

Thouroughly enjoyed the coarse, would have enjoyed it more if I didnt spend a lot of time finding my mates ball in the rough, but hey makes you appreciate hitting the fair ways.

Would have made the day a lot easier if signage to next hole, or map of scorecard was available. We got lost on the 1st and had to shoot across the fairway, and upon completion had a group of people asking where the 1st tee was.

Will play again next time up that way.

A great course, although many of the holes have very straight and wide fairways, which can be quite forgiving if you miss hit a long shot. But as they say, putting can be half of the game. Many of the other holes can be quite challenging on approach, with some gnarly water hazards and well thought out sand bunkers. None of the greens are particularly straight-forward and as WHITEWOLF suggested, they require a bit of thought.

The green fees are exorbitant and it’s usually a busy course, which might make Craignish a more appealing option.

Some Golfer Guy. this course is my home course. and the first hole is not a ‘stupid design’ as you say, it requires the long hitter to take the ball over the trees, and tests the verage golfer, if they straght down the middle, it may be 3 wood as driver can go through. and if they do hit driver they are looking at a shot of betweet 120-150 meters to the green. this in turn provied the other decision, taking the gamble to go over the trees on the left, if you can pull it off, more often then not you are well inside 100m to the hole and allows a light wedge or a knockdown wedge into the green instead of an 8 iron or 6 iron. golf isn’t designed to be hit down the fairway hit the next shot on and 2 putt. there are courses that make you think. obviously you don’t play many courses around this area as many designs have a similar layout on several holes

Kept in tip top condition this course is great to try after blazing away on the minor courses in the area.

Some interestingbunker and hole positions make for thinking golf.

A must try if in the area.

This course is great in that the fairways are nice and wide on most of the holes. Whilst there are a couple of "weird" layouts, I believe they provide some good thinking.

I played on a Saturday, straight after the weekly comp. Very frustrating...I never knew it took 4 men to find a ball in the rough. Too slow. Go fishing with the kids on Saturday and hit the course Sunday.

As far as the cost to play...It's worth it, the course is kept in tip-top shape

As a high handicapper I found this a good test of my ability. The course is in really good nick. The green fees seemed a little over the top but I will be back.

Probably one of the best conditioned country courses around- but easily one of the stupidist designs I have encountered. Where can I start... the first hole requires the hitter with ample distance to aim 40 meters left of the fairway through a lottery of trees for an approach to an unforgiving green. There are some qualities from the rest of the couse but they are easily overshadowed by the design flaws on at least 6 of the other holes that come immediately to mind. Green fees are far too expensive for visitors at $29 for a competition round. In other if you run across this course on your travels--- just keep on driving.
